I went to the Ford dealer today for an oil change. I noticed on the Ford computer screen, it said my battery was at 56%.
Should I get the battery replaced?
They quoted me over $300.00

I know I can buy a battery for about $175.00
If i decide to do it, can someone provide me with a good battery video, that shows how to remove the battery and plastic battery trim without breaking it.

Thank you

Lots of options to see if you use the "search" magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner. Make use of the Google option. Plastic does not have to removed unless you're replacing the OEM with a larger size battery.

I found this video helpful if your planning to remove the trim. I've done it both ways but prefer to remove the trim. It's easy, just take your time.

But removing the plastic is easy and makes life easier.

Well, IMO yes I would replace it with the largest AGM battery that fits in the battery compartment BEFORE colder winter weather gets here. I'm surprised it's lasted this long (5 years now?) based on all the battery issues cited in this forum over the years. When you search the forum, there's numerous threads on various batteries (same size & larger) that will work/fit with little effort. If my memory serves me correctly, fully charge the new battery, install it and follow the procedures of doing the BCM reset. You'll find it all published in the previous forum threads. Thanks my 2 cents.

I agree with @Mavster Mechanic. It may take a little longer to take off the snap in plastics, but all you have to do is drop the bolt down there and you will be taking them off to get to it. It will also make it easier to get the battery in place. The battery harness is quite the PIA to keep out of the way!

I replaced mine a few months ago. I don't have the proper tools or the patience anymore so I had my dealers mobile unit come out and handle it. Done in 20 mins. It was fully charged & they did the BCM reset. It now has a AGM battery which eliminates some issues found in forums on this site. $320.00. For me, well worth it. If you have the talent and tools the video from DonWood helps. OldeFordGuy is correct that there are quite a few threads about which battery to use for replacement. Mine matched the OEM battery size.
