The battery Ford is putting in the hybrids are crap, they should be require to replace them with something that has more reserve . I have a 2022 hybrid and I charge it at least once a week, never have had a issue with starting. I will be replacing with a new AGM battery after the 3 year warranty is over.
It is not just ford batteries as all manufacturers seem to have battery problems. For example, my 2023 Grand Cherokee battery (5 months old) was dead as a doornail after sitting in my garage for 5 days. Dealer needed to replace both batteries (main and aux) for a cost of $740+ for both batteries. Fortunately for me it was covered under warranty.

These battery issues seem to be a caused by a variety of issues.

A common thread seems to be the electronics, i.e. connected devices, telematics/remote apps, WiFi, OTA software updates, the key fob's constant pinging to vehicle if left in range, etc.

The first night you get the truck back, put it on a battery maintainer overnight. Use the jump points under the hood, not directly to the battery under the seat. After disconnecting the battery maintainer the next day, reset the BMS.
And then let it sit for 8 hrs to relearn after reset.

CHANGING THE 12V BATTERY - HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (HEV)

After battery replacement, or in some cases after charging the battery with an external charger, the battery management system requires eight hours of vehicle sleep time to relearn the battery state of charge. During this time, your vehicle must remain fully locked with the ignition switched off.
Note: Prior to relearning the battery state of charge, the battery management system may temporarily disable some electrical systems.

Hi! Welcome to MTC.

Rechargeable batteries die when they are used and not recharged.
I can only think of:
- Bad battery not taking a charge.
- Electrics (wiring etc.) between HVB and 12v
- BMS issues

I thought a BMS reset needed 8 hours of sitting ... so when the dealer swapped batteries ...
did that happen ? Or maybe a BMS reset wasn't needed.
Replacement battery requires BMS reset according to manual.

I really think many dealers doing swaps aren't doing the new required process these systems need.

In manual the 8 hr relearn is after new battery or recharge

Later today, I will ask the dealer if they did a BMS reset after they installed the new battery.

And if they called you at 10 am and said we just swapped batteries, ready for pickup - you know they didn't wait 8 hrs with correct process. Unless they did it night before and followed it until next morning, confirmed working before calling you.
Considering manual says doors must be locked - I could see that easily being missed too!

I agree. I waited for this truck for a year and a half and I am started to regret my purchase. It is totally unreliable.
I'm on my second battery from ford after the first one went bad after 1 month and the new one they put in already died yesterday.. I'm loving the mpg but If i keep having battery issues non stop I don't know if i want to keep it long term sucks..

Put in an AGM battery. That seems to solve the issues. For under $150 and less than 30 minutes of your time, you can have the long term truck you want. Yeah, I know, Ford should be putting in AGM batteries in the first place, and Ford will replace the flooded battery each time it fails during the warranty period, but installing the AGM gives piece of mind and ends the battery issues.

I live in Wisconsin and chose to preemptively go to AGM at the first sign of a battery issue. Yeah, I could have gone to the dealer and gotten a new flooded battery for free other than the time spent and the truck being out of service time at the dealer, but dropping less than 150 bucks on the AGM gives me peace of mind that I won’t see a deep sleep on a -20°F windchill morning.

I received my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid in December of 2023. The first few months I had no problems with the vehicle. The last three months have been another story altogether. The first issue was the alert saying, "Remote Access disabled to reserve battery". It still would start, but that all changed this past Monday. I go to try and open the truck with the key fob and nothing happens. I use the manual key to open the door. The truck is completely dead. I call Ford Assistance and they send someone out to jump start it. The next day I took it to a local Ford Dealership and they put a new battery in. I drive the truck home and then drive to work the next day. Yesterday (Saturday), I try to open it with the key fob and it is dead again. I call Ford Assistance and they send a guy out. He puts it on the charger and it shows that the battery is putting out zero amps. How can the battery be dead in THREE DAYS? This is ridiculous for a brand new truck! Looks like I will be heading back to the dealership on Monday.

**Update**
My truck was at the dealership for three days and it looks like they fixed the problem. Fingers crossed. They performed a stratification charge on the battery. I asked the Service Manager if this was a problem they had been seeing, but he said no it wasn't. I am attaching the invoice.

Good morning. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this battery concern on my end? Thank you!
I'm dealing with similiar issue. Just had another battery replaced yesterday. Last one was pelplaced Sept.. last year. Going into deep sleep after long didtance drives of 100 miles or more. Within 12 hours it goes into this mode. Ford Service has had my truck 3 different times trying to resolve. So far nothing has worked. I went as far as purchasing an extended warranty through Ford. When I showed my Service writer a message I found online from Frrd Oasis dated May 16 2025 regarding a Software update for ACCM he said they would have to charge for that. I thought to myself that doesn't sound correct. It's an unresloved I've had even before warranty ran out and I still have the extended warranty.

MY XL 2024 hybrid is going to the Service dept this coming Monday.
This morning my Ford App notified me that my truck is in Battery Saving Mode to "please drive the vehicle to refresh status..." But I drove it yesterday and the day before.
Anyway, I emailed the Service Department (I have his direct contact now since they dropped the ball when they did my back up camera recall two months ago) and he did some checks and he said my Mav history showed that the battery life dropped June 5, 11 and yesterday the 19th.

Im scheduled to drop if off this Monday
