CD's are great for finding things, less useful out in the garage. You need a computer that even has a CD-ROM reader, pretty much gone like CD players in cars, plus the printer no one wants.

I recently picked up the service manual from Helm and figured out how to get the program to run without having the disc in the drive or mounting an iso.

Warning: Do this at your own risk. Improperly modifying config files can break the program, so only attempt this if you are very comfortable with the steps below.

First, copy the files from the disc to a local directory of you choice. I used C:\maverick_disc_files.

Next, go into the install directory (C:\TSO by default), and locate the file called tsobrowser.ini. I would highly recommend making a copy of this file before you start so you have a backup in case something goes wrong.

Open tsobrowser.ini in notepad, and there will be a line near the top that looks something like this:

22SOF=1~3~E:~stock\home.htm~2022 Maverick~January 2022

You'll notice the drive letter of your disc drive between the the 2nd and 3rd tilde characters (E: in my case).

Simply replace the drive letter with the path that you copied the disc files to, and save the file. In my example, it looks like this now:

22SOF=1~3~C:\maverick_disc_files~stock\home.htm~2022 Maverick~January 2022

You should now be able to launch the software without the disc or iso.

I'm trying to find out the specifis for the PTU and the rear dif since there is conflicting info in multiple threads I have found. @LC48 can you please link what the manual says for both of those?

Seriously, if you have this thing, share it online. It should be a crime they are making people pay for service manuals.

LOL. Backwards Microsoft still has not figured out how to do things properly. Use Linux and just mount the iso file. No CD-ROM reader required.

Windows has had the ability to mount ISOs for a really long time. Either way, the PDF version floating around the forum is a much better option.

you have a magic way to get the file off the CD-ROM?

I use both Fedora and Ubuntu. Both have the option in the desktop distro to mount the iso when you click on it in the file manager. Then just click on the pdf or word doc or whatever and it will select the correct reader and just display it. No tricks required.

Only thing I'd be interested in is the wiring diagram for the factory tow package. Would like to know where the accessory feed pin (#4) comes from (EC fuse #48) and how the Alternator/BMS handles it. Mine from the factory supplies 6-7 amps for charging my camper batteries when towing.

Rotate diagram 90˚ to the right for the Maverick 7 pin.

Thanks for the link. I guess I could / should Google this before asking, but are there any other sources for a Maverick repair / service manual?

Simply asking from a cost / comparison / competition standpoint. Back in the 90s, I bought the repairs books from Chilton for my Ranger and Nissan Stanza, and they worked fine for me. Also I’m not a serious repair / modification person; I just like to a have a reference guide for my own troubleshooting and basic knowledge.
