I think the bottom line here is this is just going to be the same keypad that's in the Ford parts bin for most of the other models. It's a stick-on with a battery because realistically would anything else be a dealer installed option. I had one added by the dealer to my '21 Bronco Badlands, it was black for $110. My '23 Bronco Wildtrak came with it from the factory and it was painted. I'm sure the dealer will paint it for you for extra $$ but other than that it's matte black. Works the same as the factory one but has a battery you will need to replace after X amount of years.

The only thing I was questioning was the price, why is it double the price?

does that mean if my '24 order has factory remote start then i cant get the keyless entry keypad? or across all trim levels. we said we wanted it back & that we were willing to pay for it (about 75% pro last time i checked) . for the folks that feel that strongly in favor of the keypad here you go. should they have jacked the price up this much?? certainly debatable but you have to admit Ford is trying to 'give the people what they want'. now, when do we get Alto Blue back or some kind of green maybe? lastly if youre going to double the price of a option that SO many of your customers want couldnt you have at least made the much cooler (IMHO) capacitive keypad a option?

Ha! Use to be a $110 option. I'm assuming that's across all models?

It's double the price because on the maverick it's constrained.

No, you just need the version for vehicles with remote start.

The stick-on keypad works via RF, just like your key fob. Remote start fobs use a different frequency to provide longer range, so you'll need a keypad that matches that.

Thanks for the clariftaction!! i believe this and other decisions are all reflective of Ford deciding to ramp up production from their existing production line in Mexico as much as possible B4 creating another production line elsewhere. the switch to a wireless secricode keypad actually makes sense when you consider the add on effects & benefits: the stamping plant workers dont have to concern themselves with whether this door gets a hole or not ; the dies for these massive stamping machines can cost tens of thousands of $$ and much down time when switching back and forth between the ones with door holes or no holes. , the assembly line workers no longer can put the wrong door(keypad hole or not?) on the wrong truck. fewer missbuilt doors and better production #s. next Ford no longer has to stock and source a wire harness just for those darn keypads, the people that have to install each wire harness dont have to sort thru X number of different harnesses. just grab one and install it. these kind of things add up to many more trucks being produced per shift with usually fewer defects to boot.. that along with consolidating most of the popular options into just a few trim levels should add up to more Mav's for everybody ,and this is what moderen mass production looks like folks.

Okay Ford. How about reinstating the manual sliding rear window option!
no offense but i couldnt disagree more. have you ever met anybody that could reach the manual rear sliding window? gotta have the power slider unless you want the most 'plain Jane' truck possible and thats certainly your choice to make.

They really think this 250? 🥲 @fordvideoguy what do you think this worth ?
it should be noted any 'thing' for sale is only worth as much as someone s willing to pay for it. people asked for this feature and now we'll see if Ford has approriately priced it or not.

There's no trim piece, the black on the door pillar is vinyl type tape, the 22/23 XLT and Lariat doors actually have a hole cut in the door frame for the keypad. It's a lot more complicated than you're thinking and virtually impossible unless you want to cut a hole in your door with a dremel.
Ah, thanks for that clarification. That effectively takes this option off the table. FWIW, while I was looking up the parts I learned that Ford also discontinued these for the '23 Edge as well.

An aftermarket option would be something like this, which resembles Toyota's approach:
BOYO Keyfree Touch - Keyless Vehicle Digital Touch Keypad for Car, Tru (visiontechamerica.com) But, I'm not sure how easy this would be to integrate with a Maverick wiring harness.

Optional with Tech Pack on Active, ST-Line Select. Standard on ST-Line Elite, Platinum, PHEV. Not available on Base or ST-Line.

Yes, there really are 3 “different” trims named ST-Line.

For 2022, it was SEL and Titanium, not S/SE. 2020 was SE and up, so they’ve de-contented over the years as they do.
The one on the Escape is ’embedded’ in the pillar. You don’t even see it until touch the pillar and the backlights come on.
I have a ‘23, and had a ‘20.
It is the same as what I had on my Fusion.
Never understood why the trucks have the ‘stick-on look’ version.

Maybe the uptick in price will be included in the private offers since this was on my 23 Lariat Hybrid Lux order.

Not sure I understand the push back some people giving. If you don't want it, don't buy it. It's great they listened and offered it as an OPTION. $230 seems fair enough to me.
