Okay Ford. How about reinstating the manual sliding rear window option! The community has spoken and Ford has listened. Keypad is now a Dealer Installed Option, cost is $230 and can be added to the order now.

This is the correct answer, it won't be the same door pillar keypad, for $230 it'll most likely be a color matched stick on. Other Ford models use a trim panel with a cutout for a wired keypad, the Maverick actually has a cutout in the door frame so the door for an XL and an XLT/Lariat are different. I thought about adding the wired keypad but my research showed that it was impossible since I would need to make a cut in the door and change out the door harness, far more work than it was worth.I hate to burst the bubble, but it will NOT be the 12v vehicle powered pad, The wiring will not be there, Ford has 9 different options for Drivers Door wire harness.

And who knows what dash harness you would need to mate to make it work. And it is wired in the door and The actual Door is different between the two options.

If Ford was still building them like in the 90s and earlier when there was just one wire harness and you could plug and play, it would be doable. But with all the different configurations, it is impactable to hard wire it in.
There's no trim piece, the black on the door pillar is vinyl type tape, the 22/23 XLT and Lariat doors actually have a hole cut in the door frame for the keypad. It's a lot more complicated than you're thinking and virtually impossible unless you want to cut a hole in your door with a dremel.So... I just checked Ford Parts looking for the door trim mounted keypad on the 2023 Maverick. The keypad and the trim piece that it's mounted to equate to about $70-80 in parts. That's pocket change.
The question really boils down to the wiring on the 2024s. If the harness already includes the plug, then this is a super simple upgrade. Pop off the old trim piece, install the new one plus keypad, plug in the wires, and you're better than halfway there.
If the wires aren't there and as long the wires just supply power and ground, then it should still be straightforward for Ford to fabricate a kit for the install. There may already be a constant 12VDC in the door and in that case a short jumper harness would do the trick. And if that constant 12VDC source is missing, then it would be easy to snake those wires through the rubber boot carrying the door wire loom to get to a fused 12VDC source in dash. Seriously, from the edge of the door you're talking less than 6 feet of wiring to make that happen. Even if it requires a CANBUS wire, then it still doable.
The bottom line is that making this retrofit look like factory install keypad is probably not all that hard and could probably be done for cheap. Of course, Ford will get their money for having one of their engineers think up what I just typed, plus procuring/assembling the kit components and putting it in a box.
I did, it's not there. I was going to install a keypad, even considered cutting the hole in the doorframe for it. Pulled both the outer and inner door panels off and definitely no wiring there and like I said, you'd have to cut a hole in the door frame.I would love to see if anybody had actually looked in the door of the XL '22 to see if the wiring for the keypad is there just like in my '18 F150

Look at the numerals.it's a stick-on, so you can oriented any way you want and where you want it, not necessarily has to be on the door.
They no longer sell a vertical version so your point is moot, all they sell that is compatible with the Maverick is a horizontal version.Look at the numerals.
Horizontal or Vertical.
Sure, you could mount the opposite one the wrong way if you didn't mind it looking home grown.
You don't know that. So you have no point. (Subject to change when the 2024's actually hit the streets.)They no longer sell a vertical version so your point is moot, all they sell that is compatible with the Maverick is a horizontal version.
Some people do hide the stick-on ones in various places. Have seen referencing to hiding it behind the fuel door on certain models where it might fit, for instance. So long as the signal isn't blocked, the choice is really up to you.oh, i see .
personally, i would put it somewhere on the bed rail behind the back window, somewhat hidden, tbh.
Right. If stick on, you can customize.oh, i see .

They haven't sold a vertical version in years. Other models with a factory wireless keypad option use the same horizontal unit. Ford isn't about to add a new product........it's common sense so I do know it.You don't know that. So you have no point. (Subject to change when the 2024's actually hit the streets.)
