Love the built-in keypad of our '23 Lariat! I was hoping that with all the other stuff that got deleted on our '22 -> '23 truck (dealer didn't get everything properly) that we still had the keypad, wife didn't understand why. But she loves it too!

Since the Manual Window was only for XL/XLT, I wonder how many carryover orders to 24 will lose this relative to the entire carryover population. I don't believe it was a listed constraint in 23. Was the decision to help streamline production?

If the window is a MUST the only option is a 24 Lariat now and that price jump from a 23 XL/XLT is so high it may be a small, but significant source of lack of reorders. On a personal note, the manual rear window and invertor were very high on my list of wants, but not a dealbreaker. I had planned to order a 24 without them, although I was very disappointed about it.

Glad I got a 22. Love the keypad. Had it on every Ford I ever owned. Which is 3.
Me too! Came on my Maverick with no additional cost! 22 XLT EB Lux Package.

The one on the Escape is ’embedded’ in the pillar. You don’t even see it until touch the pillar and the backlights come on.
I have a ‘23, and had a ‘20.
It is the same as what I had on my Fusion.
Never understood why the trucks have the ‘stick-on look’ version.
That's what I said. ;)

My Escape has the capacitive keypad in the glossy black B-pillar trim on the door as have two previous Ford vehicles.

Again, trucks get the physical buttons because truck. Because work vehicle at heart, even if you never haul more than one pack of TP in the bed... Works better with dirty hands, work gloves, precipitation, etc. Less touchy than the capacitive keypad.

It's a truck. Ford's trucks still get SecuriCode keypads with physical buttons because truck. All others (best I can tell) get the capacitive ones hidden behind the glossy B-pillar on the driver door.

:ROFLMAO: 8 pages on a keypad, some need hobbies. I'm going to guess the sport would be Pickleball for most of you;)

What? Keypad back? After I decided not to order a '24 because they took it off? Or was it because they dropped Area 51? Or the rear window?

Anyway I just spent the day going around to dealers and I ordereded a Subaru Baja, a Toyota Stout, a Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Narvana, Chevy Montana, Ram Rampage, GMC Cyclone and Mazda BT-50. None of them had the keypad either.

Now what should I do? Order a '24 Maverick? All the other ones are $20,000 so much cheaper.

Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Price seems high for the battery one and cheap for the wired one. I noticed on the assembly video there is an opening in the door to accommodate the wired keypad. If the dealer needs to cutting into the door to install the keypad $230 seems cheap.
No way is a dealer going to put a cut in a door. To much could go wrong. That's my opinon.

The community has spoken and Ford has listened. Keypad is now a Dealer Installed Option, cost is $230 and can be added to the order now.
Thanks Tim.
Ask them about the rear sliding window and 400W inside inverter.

It IS nearly as nice. Exactly as nice, no. Nearly as nice, yes. Functionality is 100% the same. You'll just need to change every 5 to 7 year depending on use.
