Hybrid with lux and 360 on order (Jan 24 build date) but having second thoughts. The deep sleep/battery issue greatly concerns me. I live in northern Maine and will be mostly using the Mac locally for short trips, often less than 10 miles. While the truck will be parked in a heated garage, from what I have been reading I may experience the problems that so many have faced. I ordered the heated seats and from what I am reading on the forum, using them might be problematic. Your thoughts please.

As a former MA resident, I feel your pain. Northern Maine, eh? I'd be really inclined to buy an Ecoboost AWD XLT with the Lux package and CP360. That'll set you back around $33K and will give you a heated steering wheel and heated seats. And most of us are reporting 28+ MPG on our Ecoboosts. It's a nice setup for the snow. And I imagine you can get an Ecoboost relatively easily these days?
Nope, still not easy to get. Thousands of orders still in backlog.

You shouldn't have to do that with a new vehicle, or have to carry around a quick start battery for fear of it leaving you stranded somewhere. Ford needs to fix this issue because as I've stated in the past, the first time mine leaves me stranded, I'm done with Ford.
The first time it treats you that way call me. I will bring a Jump and Carry and a cashier's check any solve all your troubles.

I’ve ordered a 37k Lariat and am concerned it’s not worth the extra now.
My Lariat Hybrid is scheduled to be built this month too, and lately I’ve also been wondering whether it’s worth the $37k or not. For me personally, hybrid powertrain, keyless entry, push to start, lane centering, and adaptive cruise control are all must-haves for my new vehicle, so it was always Lariat or no Maverick at all to me.

My partner has a 23 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige, and it is fantastic vehicle. It’s got pretty much everything you could possibly want in a modern SUV, and then some. We thought it was much better than the CRV Hybrids and RAV4 Hybrids we tested before we got her Sportage. I would get one just like hers if I could, but those are just as much a unicorn as a hybrid Maverick, and you can’t exactly place a factory order with Kia and get MSRP like you can with the Mav.

The “cheapest” market adjustment I was offered “to order” one was $4k, which, when added to the MSRP of ~$38.5k, brought the total above $40k and closer to the uncomfy end of what I’ve budgeted for this purchase.

Ultimately, everyone’s definition of what is “worth it” or not is completely subjective, but I believe that the Maverick Lariat will give me all the things I care about in a vehicle in my budget. But more importantly, it will also give my partner and I the ability to go out into the world, get sandy/muddy/whatever, and then just throw our dirty stuff in the bed.

I can also throw our mulch, gravel, plants, flowers, and other garden needs in the bed without worrying I’m going to get dirt in the car. This will help us keep our sportage cleaner in the long run, and the lariat even has a trailer hitch and guiding line on the backup camera, so it gives us the ability to tow a light trailer if we want to in the future without having to worry about adding a hitch to the sportage down the road. I’m all in for the pure utility of it alone!

I have 2 harbor freight maintainers and they work great 👍. One is on the riding mower. And the other one stays on my “extra” 12 v battery. My neighbor left his lights on a month ago and killed his battery. He asked me for a jump, I looked at my maverick, thought about it for 2 seconds and walked over to his house with my extra battery on a hand truck and hooked up to his jumpers...😎

Have not had any problems at all. I didn't even know people had problems with the heated seats. I use them often, very nice. No battery problems. May 2023 Lariat Hybrid, 4600 miles, not a lot I know.

If you do mostly short trips make sure you turn the Auto Stop off. Starting the engine over and over is a battery killer.

I too have a January build on a Lariat hybrid. I am not worried about the issues I see here. The sample size is too small and you will read all the bad and none of the good in most forums. This one is proving the same as others I have been in. My second thoughts are what the 25 will be like and that my initial thought was “what a nice vehicle for 28k” That was for a 23 XLT Hybrid Lux. I’ve ordered a 37k Lariat and am concerned it’s not worth the extra now.
This is the correct answer. You only hear the bad stuff on forums. Even some of the most reliable trucks I’ve owned have horror stories online yet I’ve had several with very high mileage and zero issues.

I haven't had any issues with it, but throw another EB recommendation into the pool. Given you'd be doing short trips you won't see much of a benefit to the hybrid as it'll take quite some time to heat up the coolant before it starts going into EV mode. Not much better than an EB - I've been seeing sub-30MPG now that it's cold out. Same driving habits as you (mostly my 8 mile commute to work). It's great in the warmer months, but the MPG taking a dump and not having AWD for the snow is a definite compromise to make. I imagine you get a hell of a lot more snow than us.

My '24 Lariat should be here (after delays) by the end of January. I went through the same mindset, i.e. why am I spending $10k+ on upgrading to the Lariat. But in looking at all the additional equipment (mostly comfort and convenience items...I like 'leather', power seats, XM and sunroofs...), and the fact that I keep my cars 10+ years and 200k miles, I'm still under $40k out the door in a market landscape where that seems to be increasingly rare. After 18 months, I CAN'T WAIT TO FINALLY GET THIS CAR.

Just a random thought;

Has anyone here who's experienced the Deep Sleep no-start issue tried unplugging their BMS sensor at the battery to see if that fixes the issue? I've wondered if maybe blinding the system and running the alternator wide open ("normal", basically) would stop the issue. My gut feels that it could be an undercharge issue.

I have an Ecoboost so I can't try it out myself

My Maverick still stays in sleep mode even with the battery tender charging it to 100 now. You can buy a remote start key fob plugin thing for $100 on amazon though which is what I have to use.

I have a 2022 Hybrid XLT with LUX. I ordered within the first few weeks of orders, took a little over a year to receive and I have not had any issues with deep sleep, truck not starting, etc. I do have all the recalls you could have though, but other than some loud brake pads and pitted rotors (dealership replaced them at 11K miles), I have been extremely happy with the pickup. I am in upstate New York and have not had any issues using the heater, seat warmers, etc. Mileage does drop when pumping the heat, but with the cold weather I am still averaging 38 mpg.

I am moving down to Texas at some point this year so I have considered upgrading to a Tremor for some beach driving, but it is a hard choice as the Hybrids are holding their value extremely well. Plus, averaging over 40 mpg and the extremely smooth driving has been great.

If you are concerned though, order an EB as well and grab whatever shows up first.
