That is why I highlighted cancelling with FORD- not the dealer- as they have been known to not actually cancel a custom order with Ford and kept the vehicle for stock sale.
Ok, but... Has someone actually successfully canceled with Ford, as you recommend?

I've seen that suggested but I haven't seen a report from anyone who has actually done it and prevented their ordered truck from being delivered to the dealer.

If it has been done, it would be interesting to know who they contacted and how they did it.

Not to mention he said Ford could just redirect the build—meaning it still could get built anyways lol pointless

It's been suggested multiple times/places on the interwebs, but I have no clue of the process or success rate. I'm not into cancel culture and waiting out my process until the end so doesn't affect me either way šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

meaning if they had another order for the same exact build they could let it get produced as-is and be sent to the different buyer at the different dealer instead of the originally placed originator of order. Nuances.

The longer I wait for my Maverick, the more I am having second thoughts about it. I have a very good truck now. Its just more truck then i need. When I think about all the things that cost extra on the Maverick that came standard on my Nissan Titan, and I got the s model, the lowest model, one and it came standard with; cruise control, blind-spot monitor, rear sliding window, spray in bed liner, push button start, trailer hitch with two plugs, parking senser, Sirus xm radio, tow mode. Not a thing wrong with it, just way bigger then I need.

Fixed it. Now much easier to read. Sorry, I like to see punctuation every now and then.

You’re giving Ford the benefit of the doubt in that scenario by assuming they’re capable of executing a simple solution with their flawed systems haha

I tried on two different orders with multi 800 numbers and their GM. In the end I was told I had to cancel the order at the dealer. Neither order was cancelled by the dealer.

Remember, you don't own anything until you pay for the vehicle and have title in hand. You are at their mercy during the process. They can cancel you at any time, unless you pay a lawyer $50k dollars to go to court for a $25k truck and nobody ever gets their lawyer fees back.

I guess the question becomes, "Would you be getting a different truck or downsizing if it wasn't a Maverick?"

If you were planning on trading your truck before you ordered your Maverick, and the extended wait is messing up your timeline, then by all means, grab something different, but if you're only trading your Titan for what the Mav offers (and aren't considering a Santa Cruz), cancelling your order does nothing.

If your Titan is mechanically fine, and there's no pressing need to replace it, hold on for your order. Couldn't hurt.

I'm in the same a similar boat with my car. I've had it for 8 years now and planned on trading it in 2. A new vehicle wasn't even a thought for me until I saw the Mav. It ticked enough boxes for me to order one almost immediately. 8 months later, still waiting, getting anxious, but my car is fine and I have no reason to trade otherwise.

Pretty much my story except my order showed up yesterday (7 1/2 months), stopping in to dealer Monday to start the completion. I was instantly attracted to the Maverick when I first heard of it. Started to research it and liked it more and more. Was a little turned off when all the "pro" reviews started showing up from TN. It was like they were all reading off from the same marketing brochure. But once they started showing up in the hands of buyers I was 100% convinced I made the right move for me. Been waiting for something like this since I got rid of a Silverado in 2006. Size, Mileage, and Price checked all my boxes.

OP I'm sure if you wanted to spend the same on a Maverick as the base Titan you would get all those things on the Maverick.

Check with the dealer. That’s how I got mine no markup, someone got tired of waiting.
Same for me walked in to look at the truck and drove it out same day back in November. My local dealer has 8 hybrids and 4 ecoboosts sitting on his lot today because people got tired of waiting. You won't get a bargain as it's Canada and everything costs more here. But it seems there's no waiting around here.

Wait on it until it arrives. If you don’t like it or change your mind just walk away and keep your current truck.

Mine just came in Friday and looks great. Currently doing the paperwork with Chapman thru internet/over night.

The truck is here in Florida and on Chapman’s website it’s listed for 10k over sticker.

With current supply constraints and chip shortages the situation is getting worse. If you decide not to take it someone will gladly buy it even with a ADM. Your dealership with make a handsome profit.

I have owned my Lariat EB since last October. I couldn’t be much happier. Got what I expected of it. Always look forward to driving it. Been along time since last feeling that way. Few minor things are not my favorite. But what vehicle doesn’t. Humans can’t decide on one flavor of popsicles. So every vehicle can’t be perfect. I did get lucky and not have to wait. So I can’t comment on the wait. But the vehicle is fun to own.

Your order is January 26th.
Maybe you felt pressured to beat the deadline and wasn't on board fully yet.......??
