Hybrid with lux and 360 on order (Jan 24 build date) but having second thoughts. The deep sleep/battery issue greatly concerns me. I live in northern Maine and will be mostly using the Mac locally for short trips, often less than 10 miles. While the truck will be parked in a heated garage, from what I have been reading I may experience the problems that so many have faced. I ordered the heated seats and from what I am reading on the forum, using them might be problematic. Your thoughts please.

Deep sleep according to Ford is not an issue as its designed to turn off some features to preserve battery power. Think of deep sleep as a feature in itself.

Trucks not starting is an issue but hard to determine what % of those with deep sleep experience a no start.

With that being said, 12v batteries last i checked were on backorder so that should raise some eyebrows at Ford. Is it bad batteries, phantom draws... No one here knows. I think a BMS program gets "confused" and under charges battery. Maybe a reset once every few months is worth it ..

I have had deep sleep once (truck started). I have trickle charged twice for fun and left it untouched for 8+ hours. No issues since. I have had the air leak TSB done while at the dealer...they insisted since my VIN was eligible even though I had no issues. Maybe that helped, I dunno.

Edit: I have started double locking as it turns off lights (maybe other stuff as well) much sooner than with a single one.

I too have a January build on a Lariat hybrid. I am not worried about the issues I see here. The sample size is too small and you will read all the bad and none of the good in most forums. This one is proving the same as others I have been in. My second thoughts are what the 25 will be like and that my initial thought was “what a nice vehicle for 28k” That was for a 23 XLT Hybrid Lux. I’ve ordered a 37k Lariat and am concerned it’s not worth the extra now.

By themselves, I believe it's been claimed, they will draw less electric current than the cabin heater. I use mine and do not turn on cabin heat until low 30's°F. Seldom use both at same time. Some have deep sleep problems and some do not. I use a dash power point voltage monitor and it's hard to see actual 12v soc due to the activity of the dcdc converter providing power most of time. I have not had deep sleep occur in 22 months but have had no dome light 3-5 times. Today when I got into my lariat truck and pushed ready without foot on brake to get accessory only on I saw 11.6v for maybe almost 1 seconds before dcdc converter loaded 14.4 v onto bus. My dome lights came on. So the battery itself probably had alt least 11.8v. Only Ford knows what's pulling current off buss before it gets to the dash PowerPoint. Ideally the computer should wait 1-1.5 seconds after I push the ready button to start firing things up but things are turned on when I get a few feet from the truck and computer has been checking for my key pad to approach maybe since I left. I always lock my truck with key pad as this turns off the courtesy lights and Ford only knows what else about 2 seconds after truck is locked. If you leave something on in the PowerPoints (could also be a dash cam that was placed on a delay circuit somewhere) the power point may stay on for x minutes or until 12v soc drops to 12.1 whichever occurs first. I partially pull my 12v monitor out of power point in fear of it pulling a miniscule current when the timeout occurs on the bus. The non air gap switch may let a current pass which is not enough to turn on the led? I have had a jump start ready to use but have never needed it in 22 months. Oh after I saw the 11.6v this am I let truck charge battery for 15 minutes I pressed gas to floor to start ice and let it run until it shut off from adding to HVB. Then truck sat for six hours and I got in did the push without foot on brake and saw 12.2v on v monitor in the second before dcd. Put 14.4v onto the bus. If you have key turn to start just switch to accessory not so far as to ready truck to run. I have had all recalls except the undetermined fire recall. Enjoy your truck, I am enjoying mine.

I have an EB so I have no real horse in this game...

But if it were me? Aye, I guess it was - I didn't want to deal with the apparent bullshit that comes with 40+ mpg so I went and ordered a Tremor.

I don't believe for one second that Ford has figured out the Hybrid drivetrain issues.

Purchase one and you're really rolling the dice. IF you have money to play with maybe, otherwise - run.

As a former MA resident, I feel your pain. Northern Maine, eh? I'd be really inclined to buy an Ecoboost AWD XLT with the Lux package and CP360. That'll set you back around $33K and will give you a heated steering wheel and heated seats. And most of us are reporting 28+ MPG on our Ecoboosts. It's a nice setup for the snow. And I imagine you can get an Ecoboost relatively easily these days?

NOCO Genius is a favorite of mine. I maintain 3 different setups with this brand. Boat batteries, Riding Lawn Mower and Winterized cars. Amazon has them.

If it's in a garage, two words- battery tender.
You shouldn't have to do that with a new vehicle, or have to carry around a quick start battery for fear of it leaving you stranded somewhere. Ford needs to fix this issue because as I've stated in the past, the first time mine leaves me stranded, I'm done with Ford.

I'd read\watch more reviews, think about what you need the Mav for, and see if you can spend some time in a used or new one locally before you commit to that.

I originally wanted to order one in 2021 but we all know how that went. Finally got to test drive one this summer and got my order in last month. Well now that the shock of getting a order in and my build date assigned, I don't really want a Mav anymore LOL.

Completely personal but the Mav is a $20K truck underneath and it shows. Tarting it up with features to almost double the cost doesn't change that. No doubt they are really neat little trucks in the mid $20K's but over that and I think you're better off spending a tad more on a truck where that extra $$ is reflected in quality. Again, completely just my opinion, you have do to what you believe is right and not being actual owners yet all we have to go off is reviews. Reviews are stellar for a cheap truck. A mid $30K truck is not cheap anymore. I'm letting my mid $30K Mav order go, I don't think they're worth it.

I'm going to keep tabs on the market over the next few years. Hopefully either Ford sells under MSRP at a cost that more closely reflects what the truck is as the market catches up to them, or other manufacturers release small trucks that are A) cheaper like the Mav was supposed to be or B) the cost more closely reflects the quality of the end product.
The only reason I’ll probably go for it is they continue to sell for over sticker used. If I don’t think it’s worth it I won’t lose much if I keep it a year.
