Anyone else think their center screen is too dim? It seems that under brightness settings, there is no brightness improvement after the 50% mark

. I can move the slider all the way to 100% and I notice nothing different from 50%.
On the other hand the brightness increase is obvious from the 0 to 50% mark.
same as my xlt, seems dim and nothing happens above 50%

There is also a screen brightness adjustment adjacent to the headlight switch, try adjusting that as well. .

i've been paying attention to the screen brightness the past few days, and its pretty sad how dim it is. especially in day-time with the back-up camera, i have to friggin squint and really pay attention, more than i should have, to the screen, when reversing looking for obstacles. did they forget to plug in half the led's or something to backlight the screen ? is it just a pos for more margin for ford? can we do anything about it ?

Not the answer you want to hear (and you should not have to do this), but putting some sort of shield/frame around the screen to cast a shadow on the screen would do wonders. Like you see on movie sets where the director is looking at playback of a scene. Or how you see football refs reviewing a play on the field.

Screen brightness....what do the French say?? Oh yes- it sucks. I can barely read it in daylight (brightness set to 100%). Day/Night mode changes does not help. It is the only thing about the truck I do not love and it's a safety issue.
Have yall tried updating the firmware? Mine is much brighter than i need and i keep it dimmed.
Firmware? There's firmware? I'm an IT guy- I can do that....... I Googled it but no joy... is it in the manual? I can read a manual!!!!

But seriously folks- I don't think a screen too dim to read is a "quibble". I think it's a safety issue. The only thing I don't love about my '23 XLT is the %^%$@!%$#@! dim screen.

Any help with the firmware is appreciated. My version does not have a contrast setting.

Just tested. Mine works, I actually set it to 3/4 when I was playing with all the settings a few weeks ago, as 100% was too bright for me.
I get the impression it is not on all Mavericks. Mine is one that is dim.

It is an issue with all non Sync 3 head units, so XLT and XL. No firmware updates up to this date have fixed the issue, and appears to be more of a software limitation in this Sync 2.5.

I have zero issues with brightness after the update. I actually have mine turned down to 50%.

This kind of thing is VERY subjective. I think the screen resolution is poor quality. But the actual brightness is passable. Over the years I have had clients complain about stuff like this on their cars (mostly older clients) and I could see just fine the screen they were telling me was not bright enough.

Okay, I took the Mav back to the dealer yesterday. They performed the update. Unlike Chevy, Ford seems to depend more on WiFi for updates. The guy dumped the configuration after connecting to Wi-Fi and the head unit performed an update when it booted. The display is now marginally brighter. I am still hoping for more light in the future.

I got home and connected Goose to my Wi-Fi. Fingers crossed for future updates.
