I think the reason it looks smaller is because it’s low to the ground compared to most trucks.
It's also narrower. By a lot. But that space is from the console and doors. Not the seats.

I'm a big guy at 6' 375. And I think it's roomy. My head is nowhere near the ceiling, I'm not too wide for the seats. The wheel doesn't interfere with getting in or out. And it doesn't hurt my back riding for hours. And I don't keep my seat all the way down. I keep it up a little so I feel like I'm sitting in a chair and not down in a bucket seat. And still have room.

Walked by one in a parking lot today and it looks tiny. I am 6’2” and worried it will be like a clown car. However it could just be me😵💫. I am driving the same mid size SUV for 12 years for so it could be just an adjustment period 🤔

Any other tallish guys driving a Maverick?
6'1 and I fit just fine, way better than I did in a Tacoma.

6 ft 5 and 230 lbs and fit just fine in both of mine. the XLT has a moon roof too.
I'm assuming you mention the moonroof because that option steals a few inches from headroom, but given OP's "clown car" comment I can't help but imagine one's head sticking out of the open moonroof while puttering around...

First time I saw a Maverick I was also thinking it's tiny but I really have to say ford did a really good job maximizing the space inside the truck that you feel like you have a lot of room above and around you. Iwas pleasantly surprised when I took one for a test drive

Would be nice if I could actually sit in one. My vehicle may end up being a 2023 model the way production has been.

My buddy who sales cars told me that they over reserved some models….particularly the lightning. He said they will produce less than half of the trucks that they have reservations.

Can’t worry about fitting my freakishly long torso in a vehicle I may never get😁

This Maverick FWD EB owner is 6'7" and he shows comparison of Maverick with Tacoma.

I'm 6'1", about 240 lbs, and there is plenty of room. I had the driver's seat all the way back, and could still fit in the back seat, driver's side (although the was a tad cramped as to leg room, and wouldn't want to spend all day there). But, I don't drive with the seat all the way back, and the one passenger I had back there had plenty of room. There really is a lot of room in the Maverick.

I actually thought it was larger in person compared to how all the reviews gush on about the compact size.

5-10.5 and 188 pounds, but I was worried about my size 14 feet. No problem. I've only had it a few days but the head room is really fine. My wife is 5-10 and has no complaints.
My friend wanted to drive it around the block, and I watched him leave an I noticed that although he is 5-11 and 200 pounds he did not look like a bullfrog in a jelly jar, which is what I was worried about. He looked like a regular dude driving an SUV or something.
I think because it is not on a truck chassis that the cabin has more height to it than I expected.
Very happy with it so far.

I’m 6’3” and 350 lbs. no problem. It’s like the Tardis from Dr Who. Small on the outside, spacious on the inside

Compare it to the Ranger and you might be surprised. The Mav feels (and technically is) roomier on the inside.
