I ordered my Maverick XL Hybrid in September 2022 and picked it today. I am returning it tomorrow. The truck drove fine in the city, but 20 minutes on the highway was enough. I don't think the Maverick hybrids are highway vehicles. My father's 1972 bare-bones F100 drove better. I've never been more disappointed in my life.
My maverick hybrid is fine on either highway or city driving sorry you’re not happy with it.

If you are not a troll, then your truck has a defect. Common sense dictates the dealer get a chance to fix it before you make a final decision.

Does appear to be an odd first post, if you truly have no agenda to push.
Crazy thought, but I'm wondering if maybe the dealer forgot to take out the spacers on the springs that were installed for transport. That could explain the poor ride quality. I'm not going to try and look it up, but I seem to vaguely recall a MTC member having that issue with their Maverick back in the past.

My mom just hollered down the basement steps, trying to convince me that “…there’s NFW a 52-year old F-100 drives better than a bare-bones 2023 Maverick XL”. Her language can get salty where she’s hollering downstairs.

I tried to tell her you were driving your Daddy’s truck 52 years ago and there could be some memory loss or brain damage to consider, to no avail.

She also reminded me that it’s ‘Double Wall Wednesday’, so I gotta find my extra thick aluminum foil pyramid hat…

Curious...what didn't you like about it? I find it's a nice smooth ride out on the open road. I won't win any drag races with mine being a hybrid but it's got enough zip for me. The 💰 I'm saving on gas is a huge benefit too.

yea hybrids are meant for city driving
My Lariat is quite comfortable on a 140 mile round trip to the dentist at 75 mph. Still around 36 mpg while dealing with the WY wind.

The truck wanders around. The wandering got more noticeable above 60 mph. No darting, but it would slowly drift either right or left depending on where I was in my lane. The steering feels heavy, like the power steering isn't working as it should. Since everyone else seems to have no issues like I'm experiencing, it sounds like mine has some problems from the factory either in the build or with components. If the truck already has issues with 70 miles on it, I don't want to find out what other problems may come.

Does the dealership know you're returning it and they said it was okay? This isn't Walmart we're talking about here. The dealership is under no obligation to refund your money.
Some dealers offer a 7 day return.

I agree, may be best to limit any future probs if you got a "Lemon". However, may be a simple fix quickly remedied well before your time limit runs out. Tell the dealer they have until your drop dead time to correct it or it's theirs. You have waited a while for this vehicle and the 2024 seems to have most earlier issues corrected and your Escape may be gone, don't you want it to work out?

Basic info - on the vehicle screen, - what are the tire pressures showing? they are pumped high for shipping and some dealers do not prep and reduce for delivery

Owned a 22 Lariat EB, and now 23 Lariat Hybrid. No noticeable difference on highway or around town for me. EB has more pep :devilish:, hybrid a bit lighter on the wallet ⛽
