It was tiring to drive. The steering is heavy. It feels like there was no power steering and/or it's severely out of alignment. A lot of reviews say it drives more like a car than a truck. Not this one. My expectations weren't high going in knowing that it is an inexpensive vehicle.
The issues of no power steering , and bad alignment didn't show up on your test drive?

You did perform a test drive didn't you?

So you didn't immediately return to the dealership? You were only 20ish minutes away.

Your story sounds pretty sketchy....sorry it just does.

If you are not a troll, then your truck has a defect. Common sense dictates the dealer get a chance to fix it before you make a final decision.

Does appear to be an odd first post, if you truly have no agenda to push.

I wear my tin foil hat while driving to prevent Ford and the goverment from messing with my steering wheel.

Also I did put on a very inexpensive ($8) silicon steering wheel cover. It's a lot like a slit bicycle inner tube. The Maverick steering wheel is kind of a hard plastic and not heavily textured, the cover does makes it more grippy and responsive - if that's your problem.

But I think you are just a hybrid/EV denier trolling for people to defend hybrids - cause your story doesn't make any sence.

No, you haven't been trolled. Forums are for sharing both the good and bad, they are not mutual admiration societies. I've been reading this forum since shortly after I ordered the truck in 2022, and did plenty of research prior to ordering, including speaking with an owner of a 2022. The favorable reviews are what led me to order it in the fist place, and why I updated my order to a 2024 last fall because my 2023 wouldn't be built. The Maverick was test driven on city streets and highway, although not above 60mph. There was no opportunity to get it on the interstate at 70+ mph until taking it home.

The tire pressures are 35 in front and 36 rear. There certainly could be other issues such as set up or bad tires. To you thinned skinned name callers, go back to your mom's basements.

"There was no opportunity to get it on the interstate at 70+ mph until taking it home."

Don't you just hate when the police close the Interstate to test drivers?

You can just return it like a pair of shoes that don't fit? Well, anyway, too bad you waited 16 months for something that did not work out. Bummer.

Maybe an EcoBeast will work out for you. I love mine, best pickup I ever owned. Just today a third friend came over to try out my truck and ordering one just like it Friday. He was totally impressed especially the power and the AWD system. They are a bitchin' truck. :ROFLMAO: (y)
Love mine too. Best decision I made was getting the Eco Boost.

I ordered my Maverick XL Hybrid in September 2022 and picked it today. I am returning it tomorrow. The truck drove fine in the city, but 20 minutes on the highway was enough. I don't think the Maverick hybrids are highway vehicles. My father's 1972 bare-bones F100 drove better. I've never been more disappointed in my life.
Ok, Bye

There's a dealership here in Evansville that promotes a (presumably) no questions asked return policy - maybe 300 miles and / or 5 days similar to what the OP mentioned.

The OP complains about how the Maverick drives. My EB drives just a like a car, very smooth. I’ve never driven a hybrid so I can’t directly comment on the OP’s experience.
Most dealerships that have a 3-Day "Return" policy actually have an "exchange" policy when you read the fine print. OP will be lucky if they actually take it back instead of making him exchange it for something different.

Oddly, the Wisconsin DMV says there is no 3 day period.
"
Many consumers mistakenly believe they have three days to cancel a motor vehicle purchase contract. They do not. The 3-day "cooling off" period only applies to sales the dealer makes away from the dealership — for example, at a mall or fair grounds. If you sign a purchase contract at the dealership it is a binding contract. The dealer may charge you a penalty if you cancel the deal. By law, the penalty cannot be more than 5% of the purchase price of the vehicle.
If you order a new vehicle to be delivered at a later date and the vehicle is not delivered within 15 days of the anticipated delivery date recorded on the purchase contract, you can cancel the contract without penalty."

But give us the name of the dealer and we can clear this up.

My Hybrid is great on the highway, even pulling an enclosed trailer.

I meant he would have been better off in terms of power because he felt his old Ford pickup performed better.
Hybrid performs better than any pre 99 Ford truck performance wise.

There’s always an EcoBoost (mine hauls a$$ like a scalded cat on the highway) or if necessary a Santa cruz. 😑
Same! You put that sucker in Sport mode on the interstate and it's like finding a whole other gear! "Like white lightning off a black snake's ass!"
