I’ve had have a dozen F-series trucks and could remove the tailgate in 30 seconds! Why not the Maverick?

never gave that a thought until now
But that actually is a pretty good question. Probably has something to do with the camera?

The Ford I grew up with had a chain on each side of the gate, and yes, lifted up and out in short order. Push button starter independent of the key, and a dimmer switch on the floor. Oh, and of course, add the "uphill both ways to school" trope

They have an anti-theft device built into the tailgate now. It's that black bracket looking thing mounted near the hinge. Would rather have to remove that than get my tailgate knicked by someone! Lol.

I have the tailgate lock on mine. I thought I needed a key but figured out it works with the key fob. Pretty cool!

Yep even the Ranger in the past. Like the posts already stared wiring for the camera and also wiring for the automatic lock/unlock tailgate as well.

All my F150's and Ranger, Courier all didn't need wiring in the tailgate. I don't consider it as a con, especially which already has been posted they were easy to swipe, in the past.

They can still be removed just a lot more labor intense, several u-tube videos that can walk you through it. Well at least there was when I was considering the Maverick before purchasing it. I have a 24 still enjoy the truck, even more so because of it uses or versatility, over the last 2 years.
