Any suggestions for adding on a tailgate assist kit to a 2025 Mav XLT? The only ones I see out there are for MY 22-24. Did the tailgate change between 24-25?

If anyone wants to replace the tailgate tie down bracket that has to be removed to fit the assist strut, I've made a few that I'm selling.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. And made in the USA. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.

I bought an XLT in July of 2024 and installed a gate damper in September, a cheap one from Amazon, it works great. I removed the bottle openers and put them away. At my age, I don't have a clue where they are. The best I could determine those were for the bed extender, which I don't have any need for. I have a 10' CarryOn utility trailer that the maverick should be able to handle. Mine is not a 4k and I have only pulled a JD Mowing machine about one block. That's another story, and I have an F250 if I need to move a tree. When I tie down a load it's only to keep it from blowing out of the bed so the bottle openers were of no consequence. No problem with the dampener.

There's not much difference between the choices on Amazon and they all fit 22-25. Pick one with decent reviews and go for it. Takes about 15 minutes to install.

One tip: the Torx wrenches included in these kits suuuuuuck. Get a T50 ratchet bit and save your knuckles and your paint.
