Just wanted to report in and let all the bike riders know that the newly released tailgate pad from Raceface and Fox will fit our trucks. I have a little bit of adjusting to do but it's pretty much installed. Works with my crappy Ford soft folding bed cover and their install video shows it works with a tri-fold.

Nooooo, I just bought the older raceface one last month which I don't love cuz the logo is so big, this one looks much nicer and the fox one does too! Hmm maybe I'll have to craigslist it and get the fox one....

I use the Raceface two bike pad. Can you get more than three bikes in there?

So let’s test the age of you guys. Have any of you bought anything for your bike from the place that is my name?
Funny, I had a Supergo frame in the early '90's and I stopped there on a trip to San Diego and paid for a '99 S-Works StumpJumper for a friend. They boxed and shipped at no additional charge but couldn't take payment over the phone.

Having had two bikes stolen while locked to a bike rack in the past two years, I would never leave one in the bed unsecured. When transporting a bike, it’s on a hitch mounted carrier and secured with two cables and locks.
sorry to hear about the losses. how did those happen?

I am pretty vigilant, probably at times paranoid, about my bikes. I have a hitch rack and tailgate pad that I use for different situations. my hitch rack (Yakima Dr Tray +1) has integrated cable locks but any fool with a bolt cutter or cordless grinder with a cutting wheel can get through those in seconds. I would absolutely not trust them to keep the bike secure out of my sight in most urban areas.

I have a thick chain with a fabric sheath that probably can resist anything less than a plasma torch and I've used it before on road trips, but still would not trust bikes on it overnight at a motel. I have heard of MTBs being stolen from hotels or restaurants despite being locked, and I have always felt bad for the owner, while also feeling disbelief that they naively thought their locks were sufficient.

if bikes are on my tailgate pad I don't ever leave them unattended. if I'm traveling alone then I'm not stopping anywhere that anyone else is unless I'm on the bike. if anyone is with me, someone stays in the truck with the bikes. I have locked bikes to the tailgate before using the chain and some cables looped over the upper posts on the tailgate. (The chain definitely is too thick to allow the tailgate to close, but the cable is thin enough even though it's at least 3/8".)

I saw one of these that doubles as a set of seats when the tailgate is put down. Wish I could remember where to find it.

One bike was locked outside a library and the cretin left the cut chain lying on the ground. Despite a security camera providing surveillance, campus police would not allow me to view the theft. Obviously the perp was not caught and the bike was not recovered.
The second occurred at a mall. Again a cut chain was left on scene. Called the police and was told the report had to be made at a station located miles away. Had to call a neighbor for a ride as I was over 30miles from the house.
This time I was riding an inexpensive 2nd hand bike I bought at a police auction.

The police were noticeably disinterested in response to both thefts.

Ouch, and sorry again. I hope you've changed your behaviors because those fit perfectly into the situations I described above and I have not and will not leave a bike unattended like that whether it's locked or not.

I've even commuted via bike, but only because I had space and approval to bring it to my cubical.

All of this really is not material to a tailgate pad thread other than to state the obvious, that you can't leave bikes unattended.

Thanks for posting! I’ve been looking at getting the half stack or the full mid-size T3 To replace my T2.

Does no one else have issues with the T2 bunching up and pushing out around the backup camera so much that it blocks most of the camera?

does anybody know which fox pad fits, the fox mission pad is listed to fit the maverick but I didn’t know if the cheaper ride fox small size tailgate pad(shown below) would fit the maverick. Does anybody have this pad and does it fit or need adjusting?

It should fit. The Raceface T3 is 58.5in wide and that fox pad is only 54in wide.

I don't think that is true. I believe 58 is the width of the full size / large version, not the medium.

I can't seem to confirm this on Fox or Raceface sites because neither lists dimensions. that's really dumb.

Full size is 61. If you go to the Raceface T3 product page, click on "size chart".
