Depends. Could be those were orders that dropped the spray-in since it was a constraint so much of last year, and didn't re-add it after Ford came out with the memo that it was now under capacity to the point the combo discount was instituted.
That is true. Could be mostly "roll overs" from 22 who were scared away by the constraint from 22.

Ford regularly published a list of constrained items. There is a thread here if someone would be kind enough to link it. I had to remove the spray in bed liner and cp 360 to make sure I got mine in a reasonable time.

For a 22? Or for a 23? Neither the bed liner or CP360 are constrained in 23.......if you believe Ford.

EDIT: This is an image from January, but I believe only one or two of the numbers changed since then, and none changed to be "over capacity".

Ordered XLT-AWD-FX4 in Sept with a few add ons. Dealer calls today and says I need to remove the tonneau cover, spray in bed liner, splash guards and protective film, otherwise there is a 93% chance that I won't get the truck (Quite specific with that percentage thing). And he needs an answer quickly or I'll miss the boat (Of course). Sounds fishy to me. What do you think? Legit or Bull Pucky?

Mr. Ford is certainly trying to take the fun out of owning one. In the meantime, I just keep trucking along in a 21 year old Ranger. That ol' girl has been one fine truck.
Thanks in advance for any insight you may have on this issue.
Just my $0.02….. As others have stated, the items you mentioned can be ordered as separate accessories, shipped to your dealer and installed during the delivery process.

I didn’t realize the SIBL was a constraint, because I thought the Hermosillo plant had so much extra capacity for this item(?). It’s your decision but I would suggest keeping the SIBL and dropping the other items.

Your dealer is right. All the items highlighted in red are heavily constrained, which means you are needlessly risking your order from being scheduled for production, especially as an Ecoboost.

Ditch those items off your order and add them yourself aftermarket.

Most recent constraints list we have is from January, so the percentages and the Var. ppts may be different by now:

While each individual item isn't technically over capacity, each of them collectively reduces the chance to be scheduled. It's easier to find a truck to schedule with just one of them to find a hole in the schedule for a truck with all of them.

My sales guy had me leave off anything that could be bought in the parts dept so mine would get built earlier. You basically get $210 worth of Fordpass points to use for stuff like that. My truck was ordered 9/19/22 and built 2/14/23 and I took delivery last Saturday.
I ordered on 9/20/22 and can't even get scheduled. Changed from hybrid to ecoboost, but that has not seemed to help. Yours is an XLT, so that's probably why you already have yours.

Yes mine is an XLT Lux FX4 AWD so maybe that helped? IDK? But I changed my order 3 times since September, dropped things and added others. But I honestly think the biggest reason mine was scheduled/built this quick was because my dealer changed my priority code to 10. I started at 19 and my sales guy got me down to 10 because we have bought so many new vehicles from him over the past 6 months alone.

I think this is really important in the scheduling decisions. I have an XLT Lux AWD 4k Tow + SIBL/CMS on order but I'm still sitting at priority code 19. It's because of this that I am doubtful I will ever see my Maverick built, even though nothing in my spec is constrained.

If Ford would rather build someones $24000 stripper and let my $35000 loaded Lariat slip away, there's nothing to stop them. I guess they figure on making more on the stripped model than on mine. Seems to be their current business model.

I think you're right. I asked them to change mine to 10 from 19 and they said they "weren't" supposed to because one reason or another but he did it. They wouldn't do it for everybody I am sure though.

I also got changed from 19 to priority 10, but that hasn't helped either. I think me ordering an XL is what is hurting me now.

If risking getting bumped in production for a constraint I would only do so for the SIBL.
Also, If you really want SIBL I would check around for a reputable shop in your area and see how long it would take you to get an appointment plus compare the cost.
I was a 2023 roll-over so I ADDED BACK the SIBL since I was going to the top of the list anyway. I like that this was something that I did not have to fuss with afterwards.

I don't agree. Ford seems to be producing more of the expensive trucks. It is harder to get an XL than an XLT, or Lariat, from what I've seen on here.
