It’s already built and headed overseas. I guess I’m okay with the configuration. We simply do not drive enough to warrant waiting a year for the hybrid. I’m not looking for a great deal. I just do not want to pay too much for what is reserved. I can’t really tell using the Ford builder with OTD costs.
My wife is from Europe and absolutely loves the idea of a “car” sized pickup. My hatchback is not cutting it. I’m surprised this is not a more common instead of cars with trailer hitches. There are trucks here though seem on average to be quite a bit bigger. If a hybrid was an option for us it would be perfect. We reserved this car about 8 weeks ago and chose the one with the VIN and it’ll be here the first week of October.
My wife and I will be eventually be returning to the US. I need more clarification though I felt more comfortable with the warranty as it’s an overseas. Although that could be absolute nonsense. I was seeing all those extra charges though still will be under 30k. I was looking at a US spec 2019 Camry though was going for more a bit more money. Everything else are Dodges and Jeeps. I just wanted to see if there was anything I can drop. We feel our options are a bit limited but we saw a Maverick on post and really liked it.
I didn't dig into but I assumed those prices look like they were early 2021 prices for a 2022 Maverick that you had somehow locked in. There have been several rounds of price increases since then which are roughly in the 10% ballpark. If you tried to buy some other version of a 2023 Maverick you would risk having to wait a long time and pay a lot more unless you have some special purchasing deal available. If it is on its way now then there is likely not much that would be worth changing.
I remember seeing some Toyota Hiluxes in Europe in my recent trip in France and Austria and thought that sized truck would be pretty nice to have even in America. Then I remembered that the Maverick existed.
