My phone app doesn't work right when my truck is in battery save mode.
Actually the phone app probably works just fine.
The truck turns the modem off so there is no ability to ever have the app communicate with it.
Hence a final warning about deep sleep and some functions being disabled.

I love my truck so far. However, the last couple of days the remote start from my phone hasn't been working on my hybrid. Is -5 with -25 wind chills too cold for the starter to work? It did work at first. I did uninstall and reinstall the app on my phone. Any insight would be greatly.appreciated.
There is no starter on the hybrid.

If it was too cold to start - guess what would happen when you got in to start it.
Same start process is happening.

Sure there are no warnings shown in the app?

Wind chill only affects exposed shin, nothing else.

FYI - the app doesn't talk to the truck via wifi, or directly at all.
The app talks to the Ford app server, which probably talks to another Ford server, which the truck also talks to.

But, I was right!! ;) IT wasn't talkin... :ROFLMAO:

Standing next to truck is unnecessary unless you can't see from the window any lights turn on.
I assumed the OP was not near his Mav... :ROFLMAO:
But, He did solve the issue...
Which is WHY this Forum is Here..

My MY22 XL Eco, has worked in the (-) degree weather, the last three days..
Is the app, telling you it did not start?
I slide the "virtual" button to the right and then it starts to spin.. After 5-6 seconds, it changed to "vehicle on".
Yours does not?

Jerry
Working fine now

There is a known issue with this. I had taken my into the dealer last week to have the battery tested and my battery was fine, but the solution from Ford is coming via a software download by the end of the 1st Quarter of 2025. Hopefully sooner, since it is so cold outside and remote starting is one of the reasons I wanted a new vehicle. I am going to guess you got a "Remote Features Disabled to Preserve Battery" message on your app. They originally told me to take it on a longer drive, (which I did) to build up the battery. I put it on a charger also, still after a couple of short regular drives, the message came back about the Remote Features being disabled. There is a service bulletin on this SSM 53087 also. https://dot.report/bulletins/11009437
SSM 53087 2022-2024 Maverick - FHEV - Intermittent 12V Battery Drain When The Ignition Is Turned Off Some 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may experience an intermittent 12V battery drain condition when the ignition is turned off. If the 12V battery drains, perform a 12V power reset to the vehicle by disconnecting the 12V battery negative cable for 5 minutes. Fully charge the 12V battery and use the Rotunda GRX-3590 or DCA-8000 tester to determine if replacement is needed. If replacement is needed, fully charge the new battery and perform a battery monitor sensor (BMS) reset. Engineering is currently working on a software solution for this condition that is expected in the first quarter of 2025. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available

I've gotten a message on my phone lately when it was very cold out that my "remote features had been disabled to preserve my battery". Doesn't make much sense, since the very cold is when you would need the remote start the most. As far a I'm aware my truck battery is fine.

Then you are unaware. No offense intended. That message means you 12v battery voltage is below a threshold that concerns Ford enough to disable a bunch of features that require communication back and forth (and takes battery voltage/current to accomplish).

This happens to me intermittently. Unfortunately Wi-Fi technology and such is not perfect.

No offense taken. I just meant that the truck starts up quickly with no issues when starting with the FOB.

FYI - it has nothing to do with WiFi between phone and truck.

WiFi can be used in truck to update the infotainment center software - that's it. And that ain't often so far.

Your phone app goes through whatever internet connection it has (cellular or wifi) to Ford's server for the app, that probably talks to another Ford server that has the accounts and info on it.

Your truck system goes through it's ATT cellular connection to the Ford server and communicates info to it. (Doesn't matter if you have the app or not actually.)

If battery in truck is read as too low or uncharged for awhile, the system deems it's better to allow you to start manually than to keep remote features available and kill the battery - so ATT modem is turned off, and you are given warning in app that's going to happen so no surprises when you attempt to do something.

I guess at the end of the day, that is what matters. But I am with you about the remote features going away being lame. If you see some of my posts from last week, you can see I went on a bender trying to get my FordPass to start working again. Ha!

I had the same problem, but I checked my IPhone there was a lot of garbage on the phone. I cleared all the junk and it worked fine again! It was working great for 6 months then someone got my password and loaded it with overnight 200 emails.!

For some reason, my app started working again for the Remote Features. 2 Days ago, I took my Mav for a long drive because we had snow coming yesterday-no sooner than I got in the house the Remote Features Disabled message popped up. I went to the Ford website, hit the chat button to ask which battery it was that controlled all of this. The agent noticed that since December I had a Lost Communication With Front Display Interface Module error, (first time I had heard about that) so she opened a ticket and gave me a number to call. Agent I spoke too, basically had me to check for updates on the app, disable Bluetooth, wait a few minutes then try it again. It worked, then as I was ending the call, I told the agent let me try it again and the app had the display on the Remote Features Disabled etc. So I have an appointment for tomorrow to have it looked at, but today I went to open the app and it was connected. Now I hadn't driven it since my call with the rep, so I have to wonder if they have pushed the update or if something else was remotely fixed. Is anyone else that has had issues suddenly working?
