Tremor gets 5mpg less than 4k tow FX4. I switched my Tremor to FX4 with 4k.
Yeesh I see the window stickers now. 24mpg is a deal breaker, I would just buy a bigger truck... Ridgeline probably is close to 24 mpg

I need 4k tow, so the Tremor is out.

I’m scheduled already, plus I want the additional capability of the advanced 4WD and I like the black interior.
your tremor is already scheduled? My dealer said they weren't building until March for the tremor package.

Lots of Tremors were scheduled for December and January. A few have even been built already and are in transit.

Different strokes, I wanted the Tremor originally but I hated the giant yellow TREMOR stitching on the interior and much preferred the Lariat interior. So in the end I dropped it and went with the Lariat + FX4 & 4k tow packages

To be honest, I went with the Tremor mostly for looks. The locking rear diffs will be fun to play with, but I don't need it. The difference in fuel mileage does make me lightly consider a switch though.

This is where I am at.

I really wanted the locking diff and AWD hold but I was too off put by the stitching and yellow and orange and 2k towing is a big hit BUT I would have done it for the off roading capability.

I too wanted the 4k towing AND FX4 package. I tried to go XLT and add the black appearance package to rid myself of the orange but the system would allow FX4 and Black Appearance Package.

That left me at right around $35k for an XLT lux, 4k, black appearance pkg, moonroof - so i figured I might as well kick in a few extra grand and go Lariat, and here we are now.

Started as an XL hybrid and now I'm at Lariat EB AWD 4k Fx4.

I'm not angry - but also an FX4 + 4K is not close to a tremor in off-road capability without the full time AWD and rear locker.

Remember you’ll prob get another MPG or two if you switch to a summer street tire and use the the tires that come with the tremor for the winter/off road.

The only 2 drawbacks for the Tremor which are not dealbreakers for me is the 2k max towing and the fact that the XLT interior was ruined by a bunch of darkness. It was bright and fun. Ohh well atleast my HPR and orange exterior accents will be fun.

The stripes on body and rim are deal breaker for me as well as lack of options.
The stripes are part of the Tremor appearance package and are optional. The orange highlight in the wheel is standard. Personally I like it, but to each their own.

You know what....I'm coming around full circle here and if my sales guy doesn't kill me I'm switching to an XLT Tremor.

I was hell bent on having the 4K tow pkg but I couldn't get myself around the XLTs orange interior. Paying $1,600 for the black appearance package negates the FX4 package so an XLT was compromised and it led to a Lariat 4K + FX4 with a bunch of options that tipped the scales at $38,440.

Not awful but more than I want to pay. I kept coming back to Tremor XLT. The interior has very minimal yellow in it and the exterior graphics can be removed, the tow hooks painted, etc. Even the wheels could be painted.

Then I watched this video:

Although the Maverick 4K + FX4 does make it up the hill - getting to my mountain property in NC will provide steeper grades and deeper snow. This didn't really inspire confidence for me.

Then I looked up video of the Bronco Sport Badlands with the advanced AWD (awd lock + electric rear diff lock):

SOLD. I can count the number of times on one hand I'd likely push the Maverick with the 4K towing. I only lose about 100lbs of payload capacity, can still tow 2K lbs - but I can definitely count the number of times I'll feel so much more confident with the Tremor's advanced system.

In fact - I'd go as far to say the XLT Tremor (w/out lux pkg or other options at $32k) might be the most capable vehicle available for the money.

Lariat w/lux, 4k + FX4 = 38,440
Tremor XLT w/lux = 34,800

After taxes I'll save almost $4k and I get the more capable off road vehicle which is important for one of the uses of my Maverick.

I'll take a hit on MPG but I don't think it will be as big of a hit as sticker shows.

I will also lose some amenities like leather, push button start, power rear window, B&O (sync3), and CP360 but for $4k - I can upgrade my speakers, put a UV film on the front window, tint my windows, and pocket $3k.

In the end - it took me many turns to get here but it's a no brainer for me now.

I wonder if the amount of people who switch away from tremor will be about the same as people who decide they want one?

I guess the poll will show over the next few months. I have to start thinking of it like my mustang. Fun time, not all the time.

The percentage of hybrid to Tremor is a bit surprising to me. I wish we had bigger sample size.
