You would have had to run your Tank almost to empty to notice the difference. Otherwise you were not running 91 or 93 octane as it was mixed with 87 octane.
No, not really. Just run it down to 1/4 tank then fill with 93 or non ethanol.
Then repeat this three or four times. There will be no more 87 in the tank.

True i talked to a Tanker Truck Driver when he was filling Tanks at the Gas Station. He said the same thing there's actually no 89 Octane it's a Mixture of 87 and 93.
There are mixing pumps that deliver your choice of 5 or 6 different octane blends.

Not here in Northeast,Ohio!!
So you get to do things like buy 10-12 gallons at a time and calculate how much 87 and how much 93 to add to your tank!!! Seems like most of mixing pumps are located above elevations of 2500-3000 ft but I don't drive around country much anymore. I did purchase gas couple weeks ago around 1800 ft that the station had two kinds of diesel and reg gas without alcohol and three or four alcohol added octane grades all of which could have "cleaner" additives added if you wanted. Also an option to have car wash added to your ticket. Pick Your Price station!!!

note that octane doesn't add linearly, so this will give you something north of 90, assuming equal amounts.
