Rain Water in Driver's Side Floorboard

Night before last we had a nearly 2" rain; the next morning there was at least 2 inches of standing water on the floorboard. I drove straight to the dealership and they checked all the drains, said there was "some" tree debris and that may have been what caused the overflow into the cab. Has anyone else experienced this? The rest of the cab is completely dry, including the ceiling.

Well, that sucks.
You may want to consider a product such as this.

Supposedly it stops the leaves from getting down into the drainage channels I cannot vouch for it I don't own them I'm just passing on information and the Maverick truck Club thread from other members.

thats a lot of water. be sure to remove your floor liners and verify the none of the carpet, driver & passenger side got soaked. Prime place for mold to grow and stink you may want to search the forum for the term water leak and see the various resolutions

Thanks everyone for all the input and help - I took it back to dealership today so they can pull carpeting/mats and to put in front of industrial fans overnight. I mentioned the above things to look for as well - so much appreciated. I am also purchasing the Maxzina Hood Water barrier mentioned here. I will update after the next big rain!

I heard more than a few stories about water on the passenger side, but this is the first time I've heard of a water problem on the drivers side. Here is a good Youtube video covering water on the passenger side:

I bought some knockoff water barriers from Amazon for $15.99 and installed them months ago. So I didn't have a problem in the first place and will never really know if they prevented it, but I sure don't have an accumulation of leaves and other debris that was happening before I put them in. They are pretty light/flimsy feeling, but have done the job and survived snowy, icy winter. I warmed them and did some slight plastic bending by hand th ensure best fit.

I am totally forgetting to check those when checking oil at fillups.
Or nothing is in them to catch my eye.

I'd actually think this could cause a problem though if not watchful, because the water route from there just pours down the edge behind the fender.
If you forget to keep the area clean, seems like water could back up all around the cowling making a situation worse, if you had a potentially leaky spot.
I'll have to look at height differences better, maybe it runs over anyway if you allow it to dam up.

Those debris barriers also help leaves from building up at the bottom of the fenders where the water is supposed to drain. At least according to this picture published by the 3D printed basket thread.
