Unfortunately, the dealership has no say in this. and it is not their responsibility.
The dealership may absolutely play a significant part in this. They make the first call on coverage. If engaged properly, the Service Manager could either make the call to cover the battery or stonewall the OP and deny. I personally had a positive outcome with my dealership on a similar situation on one of my Raptors.

The OPs State also plays a role in this as some State's coverage Laws may prevail and supersede the stated Ford Warranty in this situation. .

The warranties contained in this booklet and all questions regarding their enforceability and interpretation are governed by the law of the state in which you purchased your Ford vehicle. Some states do not allow Ford to limit how long an implied warranty lasts or to exclude or limit incidental or consequential damages.

It's all addressed in the 'Consequential Damage" sections within the Ford Warranty document.

Or the OP could just push the EZ button and purchase his own replacement battery and end up with a battery that's both better than the OEM Motorcraft, and have a fresh warranty.

My ESP covered the battery - one month after my factory warr was up i had a dead battery, took it to the dealer to just have them put in a new battery as I didn't want to fool with it - they replaced the dead battery with an AGM and I only had to pay my 100 deductible. I was totally surprised, but it actually happened.
Once a month or so the ford rep in this case, will show up and the dealer service manager always has a folder of claims that he will ask to be covered as GOODWILL, I have seen them cover stuff that is out of warranty that I would never cover, but they do, why who knows, maybe its a good customer with multiple cars or as a favor to the dealer you could ask for a appointment to speak to him/her. There has been a history of battery failures in Mavericks, you may get lucky.

Do I have a fight here? Thanks for your time.
No fight. You’re about to find out what kind of dealer you have.
Mine,
King Ford would do it to make me happy. I’ve bought two New Fords from them. They will make sure I buy a third.
I trust them in matters like these.

Once off my factory warranty and on my extended warranty, I’m on my own with my battery.

I’ll buy the Walmart everstart with a four year replacement.

yeah - who knows. I didn't come in complaining I just said well my battery is dead and I want you to put in a new one and then they call me and tell me it's covered under your extended warranty and it'll be done in 2 hours and here's your new installed AGM battery and all we need is your 100 deductible. I bought the truck from the dealer but it was the one and only I ever have from them and besides doing the regular maint on it there...that's it. Good for me though for sure.

I’d like to know the year of the vehicle and mileage. I never buy extended warranties because if dealers push them, as they always do, there’s a (highly) profitable reason. I also trade vehicles around 90,000 miles and pay cash now that I can.
2022 XLT Hybrid I ordered new. Currently at 17K miles. I purchased the ESP with 2022 being the first year Maverick, and the possibilites of potential bugs that may come with initial production. That, and the fact that anything that goes wrong with vehicles now is never a cheap fix.

I just had my State inspection done on 3/10/26. Mentioned to service advisor that I was getting "Deep Sleep notifications" I asked if they could check battery health. She gave me a little song and dance. Didn't seem that she wanted to check it for me. She also told me my 3 year warranty was up (3/3/23 purchase date) I mentioned I have 10 year extended warranty. She said battery is not covered :-(
My salesman is no longer there and the sales manager just retired. I think they may have been able to have helped. No biggie. I haven't had any problems besides no dome lights and app services sometimes not available. I'll just buy an AGM when I need a new battery. Original battery health is ok. I do put it on my charger every 3 or 4 months.
Hoping Ford will come up with a solution.
I will not bother going back to this dealer. I did buy my Mav there. Dealer is 35 miles away. I didn't buy from my local dealer because they had ridiculous market adjustment pricing back in 2022. I will use them for State inspection and recall service, nothing else. They are 2 miles away. I did use the local dealer for the back up camera recall. When I came in for that they asked if I had purchased the vehicle there. I couldn't help laughing and told them I really tried to!

Follow up. Picture is my usual battery reading. Use the charger every 2 or 3 months or so. I've been in "Battery Saver Mode" for the last week or so.

Rich,
If you don't mind. I'm curious about the NY state inspections. What does your state inspection cost? Do you have to have it done at the dealership or are there non repair inspection stations?
I feel like a shop that does inspections and repairs. Is kind of like having a license to troll/fish for work.
I call it a conflict of interest.

I keep wondering why a faulty headlight switch that drained your 12V battery would kill your engine. Am I missing something? If your Mav was running, wouldn't the high voltage battery handle everything? The 12V mostly just starts your engine.
It didn't kill the engine - they saw a fault in the charging system and this is easy way to get someones's attention.
Yes, in theory the 12V battery is just another load on the 12V system while driving, but it could be prepping for a bad battery that breaks the circuit and required on turn-off, and would be very required for next start of truck, so maybe the voltage was so low, it thought that was about to happen.

Yes the HVB would be powering the 12V system if truck is running.

The 12V battery has nothing to do with starting the engine - the Generator Motor powered by the HVB does. Or it changes it's RPM such your current movement causes the ICE to spin up.
The 12V battery's purpose is to power the 12V system when you do NOT have the key to On position, which allows some tests and other required processes to occur, and when you do key to On, to throw the relay for the HVB to power the 12V system.

here in MI we used to need to have annual emissions tests - lots of places did them - if you failed the test you had to get the root caused 'fixed' but at most you had to pay $100 to try and fix it. If it still didn't pass the test then you could still get your new plates. The place I went to was a little on the shady side....if you didn't pass the test they would tell you they were going to try one more time to get it to pass --- they pulled the tailpipe probe almost to the end of the tailpipe and then they really revved up the engine and magically "YOU PASS"! Great place....

NY inspection is $37. Inspections can be done at any repair shop, even Jiffy Lube. I use the dealer for my newer vehicles since they don't need any repair work. I have a trusted local mechanic for my older vehicles.

$37 isn't bad at all.
Thank you for the response🤝
