I agree with all the advice on here. Run away from that dealer.

$645 acquisition fee is for leases only NA for you
$245 non tax fee is bull sh*t
$995 protection plan is Bull sh*t

$1595 Destination charge is legitimate from Ford

Tax and title are legitimate just do your math and know that they aren't inflating this. Easy to look up the state sales tax and title fees on Google. Don't just look up State sales tax. Here in Mississippi sales tax is different on cars then say Walmart items. Look up State sales tax on car.

A dealer doc fee is pretty standard for the industry but varies by area. I paid $425 for mine in Mississippi but it is just profit for the dealership and can sometimes be negotiated. Also shop around the area.

Don't say you plan to pay cash. Dealers make a lot if not most of their profit from the finance and insurance office. On Granger Ford's website if you look at a new Maverick it says right on there $1000 off if you finance through them. Like said earlier get an out the door price in writing before saying your paying cash or just finance it and pay it off in a month or Two. Make sure there is no penalty for early payoff if you go this route.

You may have more negotiation power on price if they think they will make up the difference in financing. Also anything else the dealership offers in the finance office stay away from. GAP insurance for example can usually be bought through your insurance carrier much cheaper. If you want an extended warranty lol up Granger Ford in Kansas and it can be bought online.

TOD (Total Out the Door, I assume) is $32,500, but the items you've listed come to $29,650...?

1) There's no legal way to avoid paying taxes and DMV fees, correct? And since those vary among all 50 states, they should be left out of any "is this a good deal?" request.
2) You need to tell us the total MSRP as it would appear on the window sticker, then itemize any and all additional dealer add-ons (accessories, "protection plan," dealer fees, etc...)

Until you post the information as I've detailed above, there's no way for us to figure out if you're getting a good deal or not.

If you do not have the car yet, you can go to ford.com, find your car, and print out the window sticker. Saves a lot of running around. Or you can search nationwide for a car. Just change the zip code where you are searching and you can search with 100 miles of that zip code. More useful that sitting in your Lazyboy watching some flick your wife wants to see.

I didn't take a photo of the final offer paper, there were many subjects to add to charge $$$ like doc fee, tax, and 2~3 more. I thought such thing is TTL. so I did not mention them.
I wrote here only for which I certain charge amount $$$ remember subjects .

I went to Granger and it was $200-ish less than we had planned on, I didnt twist their arm to take the extra money. Good, fair dealer goes a long way for pride in ownership.

Based on price, sounds like you are ordering XLT. if ordering 2024, why not wait till the 2025's can be ordered. Based on what I am hearing that could be late July/August... It may just roll over to a 2025 anyway and you will have to reprice it anyway. lol. Ordered a loaded Lariat back at the end of August 2023, still waiting on a build date. At this point, trying to decide if I am going to cancel and order a 2025 or just hope it rolls over to a 2025 on it's own... No added fees or markup at my dealer here in MA, other than the paperwork fee. Others on here are correct, there is a fee (lease) that autoadds when you do it online. Found that out when I ordered... Dealer subtracted it from by pricing. Got MSRP...

I just got a quote from a dealership.

I was trying to make an order Maverick Hybrid 24 with copilot 360, Trailer hitch.

the dealer gave me a quote:

MSRP $ 25420
Vehicle protection plan $ 995
options $ 750
Destination charges $ 1595
Acquisition Fee $ 645
non tax fee $245
etc..

so I remember TOD was $32,500.

I said I have plan to pay with cash and TOD expectation was around $30,000.
The dealer did not mention those fees until I visit their office.
and she said they are non negotiable to order new maverick.

I understand there is TTL, but I do not know about Vehicle protection plan and non tax fee
Are they mandatory fees? or just hidden fee or ADM?

That is one dishonest dealer. Please go on Youtube and search for Kevin Hunter. He shows how to get out of fake fees at dealers.

Expand your horizons both as to dealers and model. XL hybrids are almost unicorns. FoMoCo produces more Mav XLT's trim than the others. You may find you will get more for the same or less cost if you shop for an XLT. You are more likely to find an XLT hybrid on the lot. They are paying for it. The quicker they sell one on the lot, the more they make.

They may add crap like invisible paint protection, theft tracking devices, etc. etc. Don't pay for that stuff.

Educate yourself - Go to the build and price feature on the FoMoCo website for Mavs.

As others have written, the acquisition fee is for lessees. Subtract that.

But do you understand where I'm coming from? I have no idea what sales tax and DMV fees are in Texas, nor do I want to know. These items need to be left out if we're to answer your initial question intelligently.

Really? HRG

Screenshot 2024-05-24 182304.webp

I just visited the dealership, but that was not what I looking for; it has more options than a 360-trailer hitch.
Most impressive from the dealer's quote was a trailer hitch $ 750
I think this is a fake listing.
The sticker doesn't have extra options. When we first met, I made it very clear that I did not need options except 360, a trailer hitch. However, he firmly stated that since they were already installed, it was non-negotiable.

Anyway, thank you.

I just ordered my XLT from Fairway Ford in Greenville, SC. I built it on the Ford web page and they sold it to me for exactly what was on the build sheet. They are upcharging you. Mine is 1K less than yours and I got the upgrade package with power seats, ect...

Good for you. I will move forward to Granger Ford soon.
I couldn't find any honest dealership near me. Yesterday I got a call from another Ford dealership, and he asked me to buy an XL without any option of $30000. and he said "you never get a maverick with 360,trailer hitch under $30000"

OK try this. Couple years back someone on here reported he purchased a maverick through a commercial dealer (aka fleet sales). Don't remember how he found him, etc. maybe he needed a work truck to scoop doggie poop or something. Maybe you will have to settle for white, who knows. Anyway if dealer has a commercial sales department phone number call and see if you can buy a "work" fleet truck. Maybe you will have to buy 2 or more but maybe you can find a buddy who says he likes poop scooping or resale quickly. I am not sure but think that fleet allocations are still available. Somewhere there is acres of white (maybe colored) mavericks.
