I haven't seen any threads on this
in a while. What's the current policy on price protection from the dealers? I placed my order in September last year. What kind of price protection can I expect? Will I have to pay the hybrid increase? They canceled Area 51. Will I have to pay the Azure Grey $495 fee?

If your September order is already scheduled for production you should get price protection from your dealer. Ford gives the dealer the difference, so the dealer can pass that on to you.

If your 2023 order from September hasn't been scheduled, it won't be built and you needed to place a new order with the same dealer and order number to get price protection a private offer.

I could be wrong, but I thought price protection was only for intra model year price increases. Not sure it applies when you change from a 2023 to a 2024.

If your dealer did the paperwork right you will get price protected for the February price increases in both truck cost and shipping.

Edited to correct terminology. The rollover world receive a private offer instead of price protection.

Then it won't be Azure Gray. That's a 2024 color and 2024 MY production doesn't start until the week of 10/16.

My truck is now built and waiting for shipment ! I too have been wondering about the price increase in the base hybrid and delivery ! I ordered on 9-16-22 I’m thinking I should receive a credit for the base price increase and the $100. In delivery ? ? Please respond as it should be delivered in three to four weeks ! TIA

If your truck is built already, it's a 23 MY and there was no hybrid price increase. There was an overall price increase in Feb with another $100 added to the destination delivery fee. Your dealer should honor your 22 MY order price, but they don't have to.
Do you have a signed order summary sheet showing your original order price?

MY23 Price protection is a Ford policy, but since dealers are independently owned, they don’t have to give you the Policy price protection. If you call Ford customer service to complain, they will just say that all dealers are independently owned and they can price as they want to.
Hopefully you have a honest dealer, otherwise they are scamming the $480 for themselves. Also if they did not give it when you bought it this year, you could always go back and ask for it, I have heard people comments in 2 months they got a check. but if they did give it to you the at the time of purchase, they’ll probably just say NO and hit the road Jack.

PEP pkg is basically the trim level (XL, XLT, lariat). Making changes to trim level or powertrain are major changes to an order, and are basically considered making a new order rather than modifying an existing one.

Sale price is btw customer and the dealership. If a vehicles ordered retail in a customer's name is sold to that customer, then Ford will protect the price of the dealer's invoice (less any change in the fuel change). So price protection is for the dealer. It is designed so that the dealer can sell to the customer based on the price they agreed upon w/ the customer when the order was placed. But Ford doesn't require this price protection to be passed on to the customer.

Some dealers will automatically pass it on to their customers. Some need to be reminded. Some need to be begged. Some will refuse. Some will pass it on the the customers @ the time of the sale. Others will reimburse after the sale (4-8 wks), after Ford has paid them.
