I wondered if I could have gotten a Mav Box on my FX4 😡
That would have moved me from the xl if it did!

Adapt or go without.

I carry a drink cup and put it in the center console. Never needed one in the door yet after 9 months of driving. Ford's door design works for me and I think it looks good too.

I'm sure I could figure out something to put there if I needed another drink container but 90% it's just me in my truck. My truck accepts me for who I am and I accept my truck for what it is. We get along.

It would be nice if regular plastic water bottles would fit.

Back in the day I had a Ford Contour SVT. It had 2 shallow cupholders in the center console. I couldn't figure out how they could possibly hold anything, but I decided I was too dumb to figure it out and that surely they work, so I put my new unopened soda can in and started driving. All was fine until I went up a steep hill, the soda can flew out, under the seat and got punctured on the seat rail, spraying soda everywhere. Turns out they were just crappy cupholders

That is a swing case tool box. They make them for the left and right side.
Ah Thught that might be it. Thanks! Always think of toolboxes being those silver boxes. Nice

All you whining about water bottles fitting in the doors 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I drink 120oz of water daily. Heres my 32oz container. It will fit just fine in the console. That's all I need.

My maps can’t fit in what used to be called the map pocket in my Maverick. They fall out.

What do you need paper maps for? Just use google maps on your phone. Turn by turn navigation.

Got an android? Just get a USB-C Male-Male cable and just plug your phone into the truck. Use your trucks center display as your map. Dont want a wire, motorola MA1 wireless dongle antenna allows you to wireless connect your phone to the truck for data transfer

Got an apple? Synch it to the trucks built in apple car play for a wireless experience. The bonus being connected to the truck like this is hands free talking on the phone.

I come here semi regularly and browse topics as I await my own truck…
This is a really trivial issue, but oddly Ford used the bottle holder specifically and early in advertising. I got a laugh.

Good example of innovation in autos being intentionally slow. Can’t really beta test a new beverage holder.

Just thinking aloid:
Ford leaning into the DIY custom crowd with this truck makes it a fun problem to solve. Velcro straps in the interior for odd shaped items maybe. Its a spartan interior design with lots of flat surfaces. Someone will start making cool interior mods soon.

I have had a GPS forever or right after they came out. I like the paper map because it gives me the bigger picture on a long trip. Being retired we drive the Us and state highways so we se America. The paper map shows all the parks on it. The two work great together. We do not depend on the door pockets for maps. We have a tuber ware bred box we keep the maps in.
