I think we already know the majority are not having problems.

What we need to know is the rest. And keep in mind, this is just on the forums. Who knows how many people are not reporting anything. It's safe to assume the majority not reporting or taking part in these forums is not having issues, but we'll never know the more important data on the ones that are having issues because FORD never releases stuff like that. Even then, pinpointing the data assuming they would not release some vague number or estimate would also have to be equally specific. Down to the production years - which is arguably more important to determine if the issues has ever been solved or not.

Despite all that, I'd remove the "no issues" votes from the poll. We are gonna end up with 10 pages of people telling us "no issues".

2022 EB AWD 32k miles with 1.5” levelling kit. Shudder between 18 & 25 mph. Not officially diagnosed yet but going into dealership soon. Positive the verdict will be CV issue. Equally positive I’ll be arguing over warranty coverage due to levelling kit.

There is a ton of posts about it on the Maverick Subreddit.

How is it that @Tremor N.C. with 3 total thread posts voted twice?
He must be having a bad year. Had a stock CV failure then again once he modified.

Yes,Tremor,stock Votes: 1 0.9%

Tremor N.C.

Yes,Tremor,modified Votes: 1 0.9%

Tremor N.C.

BTW those two yes votes account to 100% of the Tremor failures so far.

I'm confused about your percentage calculations and how you are attributing the root cause. There are three halfshaft sets with differing part numbers, so adding them all up into one pile is quite meaningless. E.g: If one in three Tremor owners report a problem, would that not be 33% using that particular set of halfshafts and not the much lower figure that your calculator is showing? Also the vast majority of owners with no issues will not report that to you, so the numbers are very highly skewed towards having problems. If you do have a problem, did you drive it like you stole it, run the boots underwater, tear the boot on a rock or kick up lots of sharp gravel objects to cause the problem? If you modified it or ran larger or heavier tires, just disregard that data since the warranty is obviously void. The stark reality is that almost nobody is having these issues and the ones that do are reluctant to admit that they regularly abused their ride. The result is that this study is a useless effort. Just remove it.

Can not remove any lines in a poll once it has been started .
Just the way the site is setup apparently .

I think its a good way to see if the hybrid, ecoboost or tremor axles have the majority of problems .
Its kind of like the rest of the internet , its only as honest as the people using it .
Also like the internet , radio or tv if you don't want to participate or don’t like it , you can change the channel .
I just wanted to see a comparison of the 3 with a little breakdown of each 3 .
Thanks for all willing to share.

The poll percentages are set up automatically, if there is a way to set up polls different , please go ahead .I couldn’t change any of it under edit . Im just using the individual numbers of each type of axle as a comparison to each other for failure rates . Not the percentages , as that is auto populated under this sites setup for polls apparently.
I understand we cannot tell how each person treats their vehicle but i believe , mine is the ultimate test bed .
So I don't think anyone has abused their Tremor as much as mine ( I could be wrong).
Just seeing if the Tremor axles are a good starting point to have as replacements on the other two styles as an aftermarket upgrade!

Why is there “stock” and “modified” categories for “yes I had cv failures” when there is no “stock” and “modified” categories for “no I haven’t had cv failures? For example, if you have 10 failures with stock vehicles and 10 failures with modified vehicles, and of the “no’s”, 100 of them were stock and 100 were modified, then that would mean that having a modified vehicle does not increase your odds of a cv failure. The whole reason why you set up a poll breaking out the “modified” category is because of the preconceived notion that people with modified rigs will have more failures. You need to have the control group data to prove or disprove that theory.

Thought I would try to settle this topic to realistic percentages of actual failure .
Please take the poll , problems or not !
And then post what type of vehicle ,mileage, mods if any, hybrid , ecoboost, tremor to discern our percentage of failure rates between all 3 axle types!
If only a boot failure ( all are cheap plastic style), no clicking or vibration or loss of movement , please post .
And if anyone has a rear failure in awd vehicles please post too.
Thank you
I'm currently under 9,000 miles though. I expect something will pop up between 20k to 30k

This is an interesting issue to me because both my '24 Mav and my '19 Edge have very similar if not identical AWD PTUs, 2.0 EB, and 8 speed transmission configurations. I like my Edge drive train and that was one of the reasons I bought the Mav with the AWD and EB. My '19 Edge has about 90K miles now, and has all four original axles with original boots, and still drives smooth and quiet. My Mav only has about 6K so far, so it does not represent any good or bad data yet.

My first guess to what the issuemay be is that Ford had major supplier quality problems during and after COVID, just like GM, Boeing, and every other factory. I wonder how many of the axle failures are due to excessive wear from habitual high torque/ heavy on the gas in sharp turns. My Driver Training instructor taught me the very popular habit to accelerate in turns, but I usually coast through sharp turns, likely helping my Edge axles to last as intended.

Stomping the gas in low gears is fun, I do too now and then. But that is tough on the entire drive train. Flooring it to pass cars on the highway makes far less torque in the axles. Drifting, even infrequently, is likely the very worst of abuses to transmissions, PTUs, differentials and axles. Only John Deere designs gears to survive low speeds at high power all day.
