The only dings to my last car after 5 years and ~60k mi, at least before it got totaled, were one tiny one on a door because someone opened it into a metal post (barely noticeable) and a small dent to the LF fender with scratched paint onto the bumper from someone who went to go around me in a turn lane then swerved back over at me (would've been worse if I hadn't expected that and started to brake and pulled to the edge of the lane, not actually thinking they'd hit me, but they knew what they were doing and then ran the red light just ahead). Interior was near spotless. Some of us like to take care of our stuff, even if it's just a Focus. Some of us like nice, neat, clean things. If you don't care about that, no need to look down on people who do.

I always park several cars away from other cars. I do not like dents on my vehicles. I think today I went a little far.

I always park away from others and I look at my wife and say, "what do you wanna bet somebody parks next to us"? Her reply is, "What is this, my first day"?

I went with the Ford hard rollup cover. It leaks. I fixed about 90 percent of the leakage, but for $1200.00 it should not leak.

Nice color. I just got my Mav a week ago. Same concerns. So I got door molding for both our autos in the garage, then I'll add the side moldings. Looks nice, less worries

Sorry guys. It's just a car (truck). For five years no dents with the MINI parking in tight spaces. Then in the garage I dinged it with the wife car. Shit happens.
I did that with my Mini too. Parked next to it with a Tacoma I had at the time. A blast of wind caught the door and dinged the Mini. I only got one more ding the entire time I owned it and it was much smaller than the one I put on it.

The wife and I call this dingaphobia, or being a dingaphobe. I have it again after years with no fear at all. I was the guy parking that car I just traded in way out next to the new Corvette just to cause him a little twist in his sobriety. Now I'm the guy hoping no one does it to me.

One good thing about parking far away is you will get your "steps" in for the day.

Great topic, we all do things to protect our new Mavericks!! You are probably still getting people coming up to see it. And yes parking far away is a good way to get some steps in. Us old guys use to say
"Keep On Trucking".

From the distance you took those pics one can see the well balanced proportions of the Maverick. It doesn't look awkward or cobbled together. Reminiscent of the stance an F-150. Some say the Maverick's looks are a bit austere but I think it looks good. It's a small, entry level vehicle that just happens to seat five and gets 42 city mpg. (hybrid) It's utilitarian but when well optioned, can be quite nice and fun to drive.
