Antidotal, especially if you're talking about "Old Sarge"
I have not seen anything confirmed, verified or documented. About any Maverick runaway accelerations or brake failures.

I literally had mine accelerate on its own over a few miles.
The brakes never failed during this. When I parked and started it back up over an hour later no issues.
It would accelerate up to 30, not really fast but it would go to 30, and then not accelerate further.
Flooring the throttle did not have any effect. It was very odd.

Because it is electronic, not a direct mechanical throttle control. And when the electronics get weird, so can the throttle.

It was very weird. Never experienced anything like that.
I bought a new AGM battery, and the truck has been fine since.
