P0446 Rat Damage

Had a P0446 check engine light come on. Wouldn’t clear would just come back as soon as the truck was started.
Put truck on lift loosened the card board on the left side and sure enough the both wires to the solenoid was chewed in two. He got it in 2 places had to splice in about 4 inches of wire soldered and shrink wrapped. Light has stayed off.
little rat bastard. I will put some Irish spring soap in there. That seems to deter the fellows.

I tried one of those in the engine compartment once. Made quite a mess the next time I started the truck.

Also need the mechanical units. Live cats have limited capacity. Works best in pairs. The fast rodents will only catch a hind quarter. They will then try to eat the trap and wires to get away. I've had to replace the anchor wires a few times when a trap ran away.
