Original engine is toast... time for a 2.3 engine swap

Well my 22' 2.0 started missing. #3 gave it up, piston rings is my call. Add a lil oil and it will go up to 105 but still way low. No valve issues. The wife asked "how would that happen?" I said too much sauce and sending it hard! Best wife ever said "well u wanted a bigger engine, right?" Time for a 2.3 swap boys

That sucks. what was the mileage and mods to the engine? And what are you going to do with preparing the new engine? Tear down build?

105k on OE, modded at 60k; cvf downpipe, 3 in exhaust, no muff, cvf intercooler, livernois 93 tune, sb intake, both side catch cans, underdrive wp pulley, optimal yellow top, booma spacers(for methanol, not yet added) lowered.
2.3 will be swapped in bone stock to drive while goin thru the 2.0
I will use with the 2.3 head and turbo with a built bottom 2.3 rotating assembly

I'm assuming you are doing the engine swaps yourself? How long does it take you to swap a maverick engine? Level of difficulty?

This is Awsome. It’s still so weird the focus rs guys all go 2.0 for the cost savings and this group gets it right and does a 2.3. I can say my stock 2.3 rs engine and turbo maxed out at 398awhp. It was pretty insane. Can't wait to see what you come up with on this swap.

My undertanding is the 8 speed was just enough for a stock 2.0. Is there a beefed up version of that 8 speed? Or are you going to just let is blow up the trans ?
