Specs:
1. Off the lot one: XL hybrid with spray in bed liner. Black

2. My custom build that I placed on September 20: XLT hybrid everything the XL has plus soft trifold cover and rail system, co-pilot 360, XLT luxury package, tow hitch and receiver. Silver (which matches the Gokai Silver Cosplay I do)

Price: XL 24,000. Plus ADM $5,000 and dealer fees. 30,100 something

XLT: $29,100 something.

My current car is a 2014 Nissan Versa Note SL with CVT at 161,500 miles. With all the money I'm putting in this car to replace things, I'm at a standstill. Do I continue paying for stuff for this car, pay for the XL truck at a premium, or wait for my current build? This is tough.

Hmmm...

Not sure what you're driving at here?

Edit - wrote this before OP revised post with full details.

Sorry I accidentally hit post before finishing my topic
NP just read it.

Wouldn't spend 30k on an XL. It's more than your order and you'll always regret you paid more for less (I assume, I know I would). I'd pass on this and search hard for another without a markup.

Consider the Ecoboost. You could get it reasonably soon and pay about same as current order. Otherwise I'd consider another vehicle. Don't over pay for an XL.

Is what you are paying for upkeep on you current car remotely close the what a down payment and monthly payment would be for the XL?

December I got a fuel pump which cost $1,100 to replace. Now I have an EVAP system leak which I need to figure out. I can drive it still until I need to re register it in 2024. $300 to fix the problem if it is actually the problem.

Monthly payment on the XL is $630

For the $5K markup you're considering paying for an XL, you could probably score a different vehicle on Facebook marketplace that doesn't have the issues your Nissan is having. Drive the $5K beater until the Maverick shows up and sell/trade both cars in.

Personally I'd just drive the Nissan and not worry about finding a different car. But that's just me.

Just got my wife an XLT Hybrid with Lux, CP360, DIBL, hitch, tint, decals, etc. of lot for $32k and change. Had to go out of state, but found it. $30K+ is a lot for plain XL.

I think I would just wait it out unless you really need a vehicle or something major goes wrong. My truck has had an evap leak for ever…

You'll be upside down on the XL for 2 or so years depending on your loan length unless paying like 30% down. Don't buy based upon monthly payments, that's how leases are pushed. Buy on cost.

Again consider changing to Ecoboost. It'll get built in next couple months.

I would wait for the XLT, especially since you have until 2024 to do the $300 repair and the Versa is still drivable.

Option three would be to keep looking for an Ecoboost XL with no or very little makeup. The hybrids are real hard to get which is why they can charge the ADM but $5K will buy a lot of gas.

When(or if) your XLT comes in your could see what you could sell or trade the XL for then and then decide which one you want.

OP, how much do you drive? If part of the reason for your original order was substantial fuel cost savings, paying the ADM might have a quick payoff.
