Ok, who installed Weize H5 in their Hybrid? we need details!

There are metal tabs under the original battery. You will need to either cut them off or flatten them down a little.

i didn’t notice the tabs when I installed mine. It seems to be sitting flat judging from my pics. Did anyone else flatten the tabs?

So another model H5? Does it fit in the compartment without modification? - H5 appears to be the width, but roughly 1/2 inch taller, which I believe should fit, given my BT Battery Minder which is 1/2 thick is double side taped to the top of the factory battery. My concern is the 1-1.5 inch longer length, and whether it fits in the box. (I'd rather not cut up the plastic surround on a new truck).

Walmart also has an AGM with 4 year free replacement in size H5, along with a few others. That size gives a LOT greater reserve than the little H4/99R stock battery.

I just looked up the everstart walmart battery agm $180 bucks. it says length is 9 9/16.

Did you come up with a resolution for your battery choice? and did you need to knock down the tabs to make it fit if in fact you bought the h5?

Why did you need a new battery or was it just to be ready in case you need to?

mav47 on forum put in a UPLUS battery 140r battery, he pulled trim work for the fit without needing alterations or cutting.

I saw the h4 battery on line, but it did not say AGM battery. it was $169

Is no need to go with the h5 diehard makes a h4 hybrid battery that works perfec, they h5 will fit but the plastic needs to ne remove firsts for intall

The H4 is not readily available. No H4 at Costco, Sam’s , or Wal-Mart. They all have the H5 and H6. The H6 is actually ~$10 cheaper than the H5 at my local Costco.

Stock is actually or technically a T4 not H4. (Really same size physically).

Thankfully the H5 fits fine, just be certain to buy one with the vent port.

I had read the h5 was a bit tall and need to have the tabs on the floor base that stand up a bit need to be bent down. Any truth in that statement. Thanks for your input

I installed this one, is a Group 140R and the same physical size as the stock battery so it is a true drop-in (no bending tabs etc). Stock mounting means it is locked in properly in case of a collision plus you'll end up with better physical clearances around the terminals.

It's not that it's too tall, but because it's longer than the stock battery dimension.

But new battery did fit. Is it true you mad to bend down those tabs on the floor of battery section for the battery to fit? If so did you just take a hammer and pound them down, taking about 1/2 hr. or so?

Just to add my two cents. The tabs must be cut or bent down. I was thinking of placing some styrofoam, to make a flat surface, level with the tabs, but opted to bend them instead. Good thing I did. The little sensor box thing on the negative terminal, is almost pressed on with the plastic trim piece that goes around the battery area. Wouldn’t have any room for it, if I had placed the battery slightly higher. Got the H5 AGM from Walmart.
