OIL Change Discrepancy

Hey All... Just wondering...Has this been a problem? I went to there dealer to get my 1st of 2 free oil changes and when I took a look at the work sheet when I got home I noticed that they had put in 5W- oil when on the oil cap it says 0W-?
I called into my service advisor and he said that it what it called for when he put in the VIN #

Any ideas why that would be?

It's called, why I do my own maintenance. I don't trust any of them. It's ridiculous and bs but it's true. When your car is serviced, you should be able to stand in there and watch them

I have a 5 qt jug of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and the specs do not match what the Ford Specification show, WSS-M2C962-A1.
Mobil 1 is showing 'Ford WSS-M2C960-A1.
I also add a quart of Lucas Oil Stabilizer when I do the 5,000 mile oil change.

Any reason why I should or should not use this since i bought it over a year ago?

EDIT- I guess this Spec is not for the 2.0 EcoBoost. Put the wrong picture.

Take your Mav back and tell them to do it correctly, using the proper oil.
If they try to upcharge you for the fullsyn, tell them that you’re due free oil changes for the vehicle that they sold you.
Hopefully they know what they sold you!!

You are 100% correct.
If the manual calls for 0W20 Full Synthetic. That's exactly what those "Free" oil change's should be done with.

As far as the service advisor, sounds like he's just Covering His A$$
As you probably figured out everything will be fine with your truck.
You now know what to expect next time.

I don't know that I would trust this oil change "paperwork" mistake. I would probably just do short oil change interval on this one if they are insisting the correct oil was put in it.

If the OP is still worried about this he can have the service advisor show him the tech's worksheet showing the correct oil.

. In my case I read it with my own eyes and the service label the tech made backed it up.

Then you're fine. The second number is the most important one.

0w-20 and 5w-20 are going to behave the same in above frigid temperatures.

And before someone tries to "correct" me (you know who you are) by behaves the same I mean there is no meaningful difference and no sensible difference.

(I know who I am) As an Engineer and someone who has conducted thousands of scientific tests for the manufacturing community, you are right. But for the OCD enthusiast, they will still insist on 0W20 in Arizona.

I don't think you shared yet that I see.

What exactly does the line regarding the oil say?

It really says 0W and that's it?
Not what type, rest of the oil weight, quantity used, ect?

A) That oil DOES meet Ford spec for quality

B) YOU purchased a jug of 5w-20. Your manual states 0w-20. That is the difference in the code.

You will be fine down to sub zero with what you have. No need to worry.

Wait... do you have a Hybrid or EcoBoost?
There are different pages in the book and different oil weights for each. But the "quality" of the oil is the same either way.
