I just saw a Santa Cruz parked on a street today so for the hell of it I stopped and took a look at it. (I haven't seen a Maverick in the wild yet) It's not as small as I imagined it would be. Therefore, the Maverick will not be as small as I imagined. The Santa Cruz is very stylish in appearance. WAY too stylish to be called a truck. From the front it's all SUV unlike the Maverick which looks like a truck. I'm looking forward to taking delivery of my OW XLT Lux Hybrid Maverick Pickup more than ever now. It's built and intransit with a delivery window of 3/24 - 3/28. Light at the end of a very long tunnel.

when mine arrived at my dealer (i hadnt seen one in person yet) my first impression was that it was much larger than i had hoped. after 3 months of daily driving the size seems perfect now.
fwiw, i was never in the market for a ranger or F150. more likely a mazda3.

Same exact experience. For me it has been the exact perfect size, any tiny bit more bigger and it would have been a dud.

Much bigger than a 1976 Ford Courier with a four-speed transmission especially on a fishing trip: adult driving, two teenagers in cab and one teenager doing the shifting in the cab

I've posted these pics here before but I'm going to again. Here's my Mav next to a SC.

Compared to the behemoth trucks that seem popular today, the Maverick seems small.

But it's really not that small. Compared to my old 1989 Toyota Pickup, it's actually pretty big. And that little Toyota never seemed too small...

The Santa Cruz is taller, therefore it seemed a lot bigger in person to me (exterior-wise).
The Maverick is longer and has a similarly sized bed, but is much shorter.
Being shorter isn’t all bad, but it does make a vehicle seem smaller in person.

(see photos of me next to a Santa Cruz and next to an FX4 maverick to view vehicle roof line/height differences)

I happened to be at a Hyundai dealership back in September of 2021 and they had an SC on the lot. Very interesting vehicle and I thought it was more of a car than a truck. Definitely head turning design. SC looked to be targeting the 20-30 year old buyers who were financially better off than the average person in that range, yet could not afford a mid-size or full-size truck nor want one. I was put off by the very small bed and a bit high price tag. Glad I found the Maverick.
