I’m only a week in, it is actually bigger than I thought. First time I pulled in a parking space I was surprised it filled up the whole space compared for my rogue.
The height of the vehicle is what makes it smaller. You look out the window at a stop light and your side mirrors are the same height as cars/suvs.

The items you mentioned are valid but perfection is elusive and, at this price point, there's lots of compromises. I would be ecstatic if it were a Super Cab with a bigger bed but, I will deal with it. The Maverick is pretty great as is and I have a sportscar and bike for when it isn't. It's not AWD but for what I save I can stay home on bad snow days. My biggest gripe is the delay and lack of communication but I'm sure the truck will come. I'm lucky to be in a place where I can afford to wait. The camera I'm installing will have a rear view so there's that. I'm going to modify the vehicle whenever I get the damn thing so that will be my project. The shortcomings will be minor and be handled.

It IS a little lower. I'm going to get something like an orange ping pong ball on a magnet for the roof so it doesn't get lost in the parking lots behind those behemoths everyone has.

And put that hog of a pickup next to a Freightliner and it looks small.
And when converting real life into a 2D photograph, perspective makes a difference. All of these comparison photos seem to have the Maverick parked 3' farther away from the camera than the other truck, which significantly exaggerates the size difference... Not a realistic comparison.

I know, but that's the way of the world these days. My other two vehicles are manual so I cope. I'm compensated by the coolness of the hybrid system.
