I'm still convinced the problem with todays workforce is the hourly wage. If you're going to get paid $10.00 per hour to make one or a hundred hamburgers, you're going to make as few as you can and still make $10.00 regardless of the number produced.

If they paid workers by the numbers they produce (properly, without issues) they'd be making so damn many we couldn't order them fast enough.

I'm in favor of performance based pay. In the case where the employee is restricted by the numbers they are able to make, then pay them based on performance with a little extra due to issues outside their control.

We would have had out Mavericks back in June and July had this been the case.

Just my opinion.
My opinion; it has nothing to do with the rate of pay. I believe there are supply issues . Paying by
piece work would not work in that type of modern factory, it is just not designed for that .

I could be wrong, but I don't get the impression that they are being slowed down by their labor force. The excuses for the shutdown are supply issues. So even if they could make them faster, that just means the workers would get sent home sooner and the factory shut down for longer.

I always thought when doing assembly line work the speed of the line set the pace. If you as a worker could not perform your specific task quick enough and the line slowed or stopped on your account you would not last long at that job, right?
I'm more inclined to think supply shortages and a demand that has exceeded Ford's wildest dreams are what is behind this.
I am anxious to hear more hands on driving reviews of the hybrid. Think of it this way...if issues are discovered the fact it might take months before you take delivery gives more time to discover any issues. If they were too serious you could change your mind and refuse your order. Hopefully, that won't be the case.

Screw it, I’m just gonna order a platinum f450 4x4 and name fomoco as a beneficiary.
when you die you’ll still owe a $100k so they will reposes it anyway.

Well with no scheduling next week and the plant shut down also I should have expected the dreaded Ford email would come which it did telling me the news that my production date is again pushed back another week to 11/22 :(

Fast Food workers get $15.00 an hour.

When people can make more money sitting at home on their butts, rather than working, well...just think about it.
Try $8.50 in oklahoma.

I can't be the only one to have figured out the pun in the announcement that Ford will give us a "goodie bag" for waiting so long to get our orders.
Q. - What's Ford doing for customers who've had orders delayed?
A. - Giving them FITS! 😂

I think cost if living plays a part. Also, let's not forget that Hermosillo workers are a union. They're getting paid %75 of wages whenever there's a shutdown and they're at home.

I don't think it's in Ford's breast interest to delay. Probably has to do with supply chain rather than wages.
