I have a 2024 XLT and use the remote start via Fordpass app. I have the truck set to use last heat settings, but after it is remote started, it doesn't show any lights on the heater controls. Shouldn't it show what the heater settings are while remote stared?

When the vehicle is in Remote Start mode, the climate module is not illuminated, it does not indicate what the current settings are, and they cannot be controlled. The system is controlling climate automatically, the vehicle is not in normal operation, and the expectation is that when you get to the vehicle, you will start it and use your user-defined settings.
So, does remote start use last heat setting? If not, will it at least turn on heat when it's cold and A/C when it's hot?

So what is the point of remote start if the HVAC system doesn't do anything? Just to warm the engine?

So with no lights showing does that mean it's not doing anything or doing behind the scenes heating or cooling?

I have yet to do remote start on my xlt mav hybrid BUT on my past 2020 ecoport SE when In used the app to start in the winter it was heat and in summer it was ac. Oh, heated driver seat came on too in winter. The blower was on high in winter on defrost. No lights on heat controls BUT it was on for sure. I assume the Mav is the same.

I tell myself the reason for this is because there's no point in having the heat turned on before the engine is warmed up. And I usually only start the truck a max of five minutes before going out to it, if at all.

For me, the remote start does turn the blower on, but it doesn't seem to apply any heat, and that seems to be the case even if it HAS been running for longer than 5 min. (Don't know about AC since I don't remote start for that.)

Remote start using FP does condition the cabin depending on outside temperatures.

I just got back from a trip and the minute I touched down I remote started my Mav from the plane because the outside temp was 28*F. By the time I deboarded the plane and made it the Mav the ice was melting off the windshield and the cabin was nice and toasty.

But one might say remote starting heats the motor up, so all you have to do when you enter the truck is just turn the HVAC on. As far as AC, 🤔

Yeah, that's my point... I meant "the reason for this apparently flawed functionality." I don't think the theory translates to reality, though. As for AC, I don't care - barely hot enough for that here!

Can't speak to the summertime temps (haven't owned it long enough to try) but it is counterintuitive to start your vehicle in cold weather and immediately turn your HVAC on - it takes heat away from your engine and prolongs the time it takes to reach operating temps.

Remote start shuts off after 10 minutes and really anything below 40 degrees - 10 minutes is not long enough to reach operating temperatures so there is no reason for the HVAC to fire.

Heated seats and steering wheel do heat up. Unfortunately - if you bought a poverty edition those are the breaks.

It's comical to me that the Lariat does not come standard with heated seats. (Mine doesn't have them, and I only have a Lariat because that's what I happened on to.) Got a 12-volt heated seat pad that actually works okay, but guess what - the 12V accessory outlet doesn't turn on with FP remote start either! (Even if it did, I'd have to be careful because of that 90-minute delayed shutoff of the outlet)

In the 2024s both are now part of the package. Essentially the lux package is required for Lariat in the 2024’s

Only Ford could make a poverty Lariat edition.....
