I think the biggest reason is, Ford has all four lights on at all times. In the old days, if you saw a car with all the headlights on it meant the highs and lows were on. Hence the flash from oncoming drivers.

And yes these lights are bright!

The first time I saw a Maverick in the dark I thought the same thing, another vehicle with its high beams on because I saw four lights illuminated. Then once it passed I saw the tail lights and realized it was a Maverick. The headlights are very bright. The Lariat is even brighter.

This is extremely common today. The Maverick is running 2 reflectors per side. Our E-class ran 2 projectors per side - no issue. 2017-2019 Corollas 2 projectors per side. Our Integra - 4 projectors per side. Honda Accord - 7 reflectors per side. Acura RDX - 7 projectors per side..

If this is the reason people are getting flashed, this is really dumb. So many modern cars with multi-reflector and multi-projector lights.

Literally happens almost everytime I drive at night people are just not use to having cars qith LED headlights coming at them i purposely have taken to not turning them down until the oncoming car can see me doing it to spare headaches. The Auto setting wont turn them off if your both cresting a hill or about to hit a sharp cornor so in those instances i wait to override.

Also for those of you that are saying the high beams are flicking back on between cars you can set the delay for the Auto setting to be longer so that doesn't happen

My issue here is that I'm not even using them. I can't turn them down when people can see me do it because they're not even on. Not using the auto function either. I think the lights on this thing are just really bright, especially in my dark rural environment.

Seems like people are suggesting that most ford mavericks headlights are out of alignment but they arent ,i get flashed to on regular beams an i had the alignment checked an nothings off they are perfect ,people just think the regular headlights are highbeams because they are really bright.i was behind my nebor coming into my neborhood an when we got outta the truck he says to me do you have hibeams on an i said no but everyone thinks i do ,he said there really bright white.

It's the bluish color temperature. Blue light scatters more and the glare is worse and fucks with night vision worse than warmer color headlights. Polarized blue-blocker (yellow) sunglasses really help, for anyone who has disabling glare from all the bluish headlights. I cannot drive at night without them. They're cheap on amazon, at walmart sporting goods, Academy Sports, etc.

The lights are white, technically speaking. Not blue.

I had the same problem back in 1980 the cars had 4 round headlights, I switched the standard ones to the 'new then' halogen sealed beams. With the 1973 car I have, I've switched those headlights to the next version of headlights brighter than the old halogens, when driving at night it's like having a couple flashlights taped to the hood compared to my Mavericks headlights. I find many of the new headlights to be blinding & some are too bright & do not meet DOT standards, especially aftermarket ones. In time we will get used to them I suppose.

Do you know the "color temperature" of the "white" lights on the Maverick? I think he was meaning they are toward the blue end of the spectrum of white, not that they were "blue" like some of the xenon headlights can be...

We've got several different types of LED light bulbs in our house, and purposely bought "daylight" and "warm" color temp bulbs for different areas / uses. The "daylight" bulbs are definitely toward the blue spectrum (though no one looking at them would say "that's blue"), and appear to be MUCH brighter than the identical bulb in the "warm" color temp range.

Now, there IS a perverse satisfaction in being like "You think THOSE are my brights? THESE are my brights!" But it's starting to get a little tiring.
Back in 69, I had a Mustang. Got ahold of some airplane landing lights that fit the car. They would light the road for 1/2 mile or more. Highly illegal! But effective when someone refused to dim their brights. "You think THOSE are my brights? THESE are my brights!"

I didn't keep them in for too long as I wasn't looking for a ticket when I "lit up" a state policeman, but they were fun. Until the Maverick, I would leave brights on until the other driver lowered theirs, or could plainly see that I had lowered mine. The auto function works well, but does have an issue with curves as I would not have put them back on seeing that a car was coming around a curve at me. They do turn off right away, but results in a lot of "flashing". I didn't know about delaying the timing, will look into that.

All I know for certain is that once I disabled the auto brights the problem almost entirely ceased. Every once in awhile someone in an older model vehicle will flash me because these new lights are indeed super bright but it's become pretty rare.

I am just thinking that the vehicle you are driving, a Maverick, is just so sexy that oncoming drivers are flashing it!! ;)
