NEWBIE QUESTION ABOUT BLINDSPOT WARNING SYSTEM

My wife's Toyota Highlander has a Blindspot warning system that gives an audible warning, as well as the flashing visual on the Sideview mirror. I cannot find any evidence that there is an audible warning on my Maverick, which is a 2024. Comments?

I wish it beeped when the blind spot is occupied and I put my blinkers on. But to my knowledge it doesn't do that (I never heard an audible warning in 32,000 miles. Can't find anything about a beep in the manual).

I added the BLISS mirror check to my lane change scan habits. I still check the rear mirror, signal, look over my shoulder, but now I also scan that mirror as my eyes come back to the road. All while being careful I don't rear end whoever is in front of me (because now my scan takes a bit longer).

Not sure on the 2025 top trim models but I have a 24 XLT and it doesn't make a sound when a vehicle is in the blind spot, it just flashes.

Check your settings, may be a sound option, check the owners manual. My 2024 makes no sound but then again I would not want it to.

My Peripheral vision works well, I always see the light in the mirror. But then again I do look before I change lanes.

The owner's manual says nothing about an audible alert in the Blindspot. Based on what I know so far, I would assume that the truck does not have that feature. thanx steve

I'm gonna check it out in a few minutes and report back, I got a 2024 Lariat. A great thing its the brightness of it. Its really bright during a sunny day.

Unfortunately Ford's blind spot monitoring doesn't come with an audible option. I miss it a lot since my Challenger had it that i drove for the past 10 years... I got very used to it and it was the first thing I researched when I got my lobo.

Maverick has never had audible BS warning, for which ME PERSONALLY, I am grateful. I find the audible warnings annoying AF. YMMV.

No audible. Just a solid indication when something is present and then flashing if you put your signal on and something is there. 25 Lariat Hybrid.

My wife was driving I was passenger. Car in front brakes hard to make right turn. Loaded Lariat was in cruise. Wife braked and tried to steer to left. Vehicle was in left blind spot coming really fast in 65mph zone. Do not know if she beat the automatic emergency braking or not. In either case she said the steering wheel was locked and would not let her change lanes. So that was a big plus. She came to a complete stop pretty much a foot or two from where the turning car was when all the action was. Presumably computer will prevent steering into lane when blind spot is active. ???
