I did my Sync update via USB but wasn't able to get the .xml thing to work properly after the update was successfully installed. Anybody else have this issue?

Thx in advance.

I tried updating this last night and am unable to get it to see there's an update available. I followed the steps outlines in the posts before.

I am at 1.9

The only thing left to try is to get out away from any wifi signals and hotspot to my phone.

Me to. I installed the update again today and it completed correctly and made the .xml file.

Appreciate that heads up - I'll probably try 'er again this week to get the .xml file to work. Thx!

Hotspot to your phone is usually sufficient. Stay with the vehicle with it in accessory mode. To finish the download at least.

However, the update process is a pain if you first connect to a weak WiFi signal or whatnot. First, it takes forever and can fail midway. Second, if you try connecting to a second SSID it will fail as the head unit is still connected to the first SSID, a soft reset usually fixes this.

Am at 1.9 also and can’t use hotspot phone as it’s only 3g speeds and super slow at that, can’t connect to my home wifi either as the signal isn’t strong enough to reach my maverick, not sure what to do in my case other than try and request that the dealer update it

that's exactly what you do. if there's something that isn't working, or seems to be buggy, use that as a reason to request the update under bumper-to-bumper warranty.

don't start by just asking to update, that is likely to generate a billable work order, in my opinion. start by describing a problem and asking to update.

Stupid question but does the car have to be running to update? Or can you start the update and walk away. Thanks

Yes, there is a TSB to do update, tsb 22-2399, for trucks built before 8/24/2022...

Oh there’s definitely a few minor bugs still with the 1.9 software build, so far have had the system clock freeze on me and every once in a while while music is playing I’ll get kind of like a popping sound followed by the music stopping for a second and then continuing to play after that, doesn’t matter what source the music is coming from, also have had the rear view camera be a little glitchy where it will switch to the rear camera view and then back to the radio screen and then back to the rear camera view all within a few seconds…. Fortunately the system has never frozen on me and the glitches seem to be intermittent and far between so the system functions normally about 99% of the time

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

Once the update finishes downloading and starts the install you can walk away. You should be updated next morning, can take 8-12 hours before you get the update chime or see a new version.

When downloading it is a pain as if the vehicle shuts off, on/accessories position, the download starts from scratch.

I had to restart my cable modem-router to get it to work, but it did download and install. Time to replace that old Arris unit from Spectrum with something better!
