Might be the level... I have an XLT. If you have a Lariat yours might be different, not sure... EB and Hybrid might also be different... I'm not sure.

My current version is G1.8.0.1_RC15_R21461e

Turned on my Phone's HotSpot for the Maverick to use the HotSpot for internet connectivity.
Maverick shows connected to HotSpot.

Did the Check for Updates and it found and downloaded MB3T-14G516-MG-16584...
Download went to 100% and after sometime then started installation

It took sometime but installation went to 100% then went back to screen with no other messages

I then rechecked software version but it still is G1.8.0.1_RC15_R21461e

I turned off the Maverick and then turned the Maverick back on to Run Mode

Again checked software version but is still says G1.8.0.1_RC15_R21461e

If I again ask to check for updated software it doesn't do any checking

Any idea in what is going on as to why the update didn't take?

Straight from Ford's site about Maverick and updates:

After installation is finished, it will take a few ignition cycles for the software to be updated. There will be a temporary message on the top bar stating “Update installation complete” when it is done.

I love my Motorola MA1 I never have problems with having to disconnect it. I get in the truck. Started it up My phone Bluetooth connects to it and my YouTube music starts playing. I would tell everybody with a Maverick get it!

Let the truck sit overnight. I installed it in the evening, had installation go to 100%. Version was still the same that night.

Started the truck to run next morning/afternoon, was greeted with 'Updated' over the speakers.

XL & XLT use a completely different infotainment system, screen and buttons are the same, rest of the hardware isn't. SYNC 3 can be updated via WiFi, by the dealer, or USB flash. XL/XLTs use something similar to SYNC 2.5, which most of the features of SYNC is stripped in favour of using Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Unfortunately, for us with SYNC lite, we can only update via WiFi. Downloading the update can be a pain if your WiFi signal is weak. Any hiccups require you to restart from 0%.

For you, https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/.

I'd love to do that, but, I'd have to run two cables.

One for the dongle for Wireless AA and charging the phone. The cubby is full as is for receipts and knick-knacks lol.

As someone who has ordered but not taken delivery of their Mav yet, I'd like to say "Thank You" to the trailblazers (or guinea pigs)....
Hahahaha, wait till you get your truck and find out the same problems from the MY22 carried over to MY23. :ROFLMAO:

The missing step was: After installation is finished, it will take a few ignition cycles for the software to be updated. There will be a temporary message on the top bar stating “Update installation complete” when it is done.

The second ignition cycle about an hour later said out loud that the software was updated.

Checking the current version showed that it was updated to: G2.0.0.1_R22285A

Android Auto does seem more responsive and quicker to respond. Of course I have only had the update for a couple of days. I'm glad to see updates happen.

Funny, I just checked mine. And even though I've got it set for auto updates, I did a manual scan. I've got a different (and apparently older) version than yours, and got no update.

I know there was an update earlier in the year... Maybe you need to give yours a couple of days for the update to settle in and then try again for the latest. Mine was set for auto update too but never has. That might have to do with the connection.

I don't think auto-update works correctly. The system never reconnects to WiFi from my experience except after the update.

Starting the truck in the morning or coming back, the WiFi icon after the update shows the WiFi signal with an I. Not connected, but WiFi available.

Try using your Mobile Hotspot to see if there's an update. Though, I warn ya the update is 500Mb.

Ford's infotainment systems are picky when it comes to WiFi signals and slow speeds.
