I wonder how skewed it would be if we had a few more of the over 5,000 guests as members?

I realize this is just a snapshot of this Thursday morning.
Hang on, does that mean there are only 79 people generating all these posts? 🤨

This is interesting
Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964) make up a significant portion of the U.S. population, around 19-20% according to recent data, though their share is shrinking as they age.

Baby Boomers still rule the NEW car buyers market.
The automotive industry is quietly undergoing a generational shift. The number of new vehicle registrations among young buyers aged 18-34 has slowly declined over the past few years. Once a key demographic fueling growth for automakers, younger consumers are now purchasing fewer new cars than ever before. According to S&P Global Mobility, this age group has seen its share of new vehicle registrations drop from 12 percent in Q1 2021 to under 10 percent in 2025.
Meanwhile, adults aged 55 and over now account for nearly half of all new registrations, up from 44.8 percent in 2021 and holding the largest share for two years running.

Curious if the stats on this forum are skewed. I feel as if the younger generation doesn't use forums as much anymore.
I don't think our Poll is too much off base. Ford targeted a younger buyer group 22-35. So far that targeted group is only accounting for about 25% of maverick sales. And as the article I posted above States, that targeted group is shrinking.

Ohh actually that makes sense now. There is no way i could afford a car and an apartment at todays rates and prices. I was lucky to buy my home before the crazy spike in home prices.

This fits the narrative that this younger age group doesn't seem to want to even learn to drive so they wouldn't need to buy a vehicle. They would, however, need Gen X and Boomers to drive the Ubers that they send for!

Well, it fits the narrative that the younger age group would be less likely to buy a new vehicle anyway. The stats presented don't say anything about used vehicles. I don't know about you, but my first few vehicles weren't new, so I wouldn't expect young people today to buy new ones either.

The only thing certain from this poll is that more boomers have voted than any other age group.

I still go to the “Store” that I worked for many years at and the people that replaced me and my fellow retirees are over 20, some look even older, and they have their parents dropping them off to work, and picking them up afterwards. WTF is happening??? When I retired the company said “Great, now we can hire 3 people to replace you”. It’s all about the $$$. 🫩

Thanks for "bumping" this thread. Didn't know there was a poll. I'm all in for surveys and polls as they help shape whatever topic is being polled/voted on. Born in 58 so I fit right in with the majority here AND from what I've seen on the road around me, it is fairly accurate! Not on F***book, REd*** or any other social media site. Those are just not for me. Forums all the way (y)
