The wife should be home with her new 24 hybrid in a few minutes!! My 22 had the various recalls but is a wonderful truck with 35000 miles. My 24 should be here about the end of May.

I can’t figure out this Hybrid mystic. There are a lot of posts about a lot of problems but whenever someone asks about buying a hybrid it becomes the best truck in the world. Which is it? Why chance it for the few more miles per gallon on compared to the Eco?

TL;DR - concerns are valid, the gamble is yours on both purchase and warranty.
If it's peace of mind .. get the warranty (hybrid or not ...Ford or not).

I'm just nosy ... did you/your wife consider a new Camry Hybrid?
I mean, you have a Tundra for truck stuff and the Camry is nice and beats the Hybrid Mav at
EPA MPG estimates. It's a Toyota ..a brand you already are used to.

I have a '23 Hybrid XLT Mav.
It has at least three or four outstanding recalls i am not concerned about fixing anytime soon.
I don't have any apparent issues.

My only concern is the reports of axles going bad and how hard they are to replace on my own.

The Camry Hrbrid is not an option for us. We want a smaller truck with great fuel economy. The Tundra is a big pig when it comes to fuel use and we only want to use it to pull our RV. The Maverick will be used as fhe daily driver and for hardware store runs and carrying anything you don't want to put in a sedan (garbage dump runs). All the things the Tundra does now. Fuel here is over $7 a gallon and the Tundra has a 38 gallon fuel tank.

OP, have you checked out the new Tacoma Hybrid? Gets pretty decent fuel economy for a midsize. And it will wipe the floor with Mavericks when it comes to reliability and capability, being built on the full-size Tundra platform. It's not as small as the Maverick, of course.

The Maverick I'm purchasing comes in at $42,700 Canadian. I can't buy a Tacoma anywhere near that and the mpg is around 24 where the Maverick is @ 44mpg.

There is a huge demand for the hybrid right now and Ford can't build them fast enough. One of rhe reasons I chose the hybrid, if I actually start to hate it I can unload it and get almost all my cash back. One of the dealers had a truck that was being return on a lease with only 1500kms on it and they were asking close to msrp. The guy was selling it because of health issues.

Coming to a Maverick forum filled with a bunch of enthusiasts and asking if you should buy one. No worries on getting biased opinions - we aren't those kind of people here!

My concerns would be build and material quality differences where the cabin is concerned. I don't know what a 2015 Camry is like on the interior but our XLT Mavericks are a bit Spartan and utilitarian. Any Toyota I have been in simply has a better interior. Cabin noise might be a consideration too. I can imagine the Toyota is a little quieter, I could be wrong.

Most all of the issues that the '22 Hybrids have are resolved for the '24 model year.

Get an extended warranty from @Granger Ford for next to nothing as they sell it right near their cost. It is wild how cheap they are compared to standard pricing!
Thank you for your trust and business for your warranty!

Doesn't everyone have concerns when spending a butt load of money on anything? The percentages are in favor that the Maverick will be trouble free.

My '24 hybrid is 2 months old, with about 4800 miles on it. Still no squeaks or rattles, runs great, great mileage. I love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I had a 23 XLT Hybrid Lux (waited 13 months for it). The day it arrived, I ordered a Lariat Hybrid which had not been available in Canada when I ordered it. The Lariat is a 24 as it took another six months. Thankfully no issues with either, but it is too early to predict the future. My 2008 Escape hybrid was great (and is still on the road under new ownership), so who knows? I liked the interior of the Lariat model and wanted the rear back up sensors and dual zone a/c.
Hope you like the Maverick.

6 months is actually not that bad of a wait. My local dealer had said 8-12 months. The XLT with lux package was a rare find that happened to be available. I did talk to another dealer that had a 2024 Lariet with lux package and black out package but it had 1,500kms on it and was about $7,000 more.
