Need some clarification before I go crazy

I truly feel bad for those of you that still do not have your orders from 2022. I hope every single order is filled. I am a short timer in the sense that I have only been waiting five months where as many of you might be way beyond 12 months. I placed my order in September for a '23 Lariat, Luxury package, FX4, and 4 K tow package with a VERY LARGE dealership in Central Ohio. It seems like every week, they are getting another Maverick to sell. My priority code is not great, it is 15. My salesperson has done a really good job in my opinion promptly answering questions along the way and helping. For those of you that might know, is it a situation in which the dealerships get all of their allocated vehicles first, and then the private orders are handled as far as build dates are concerned? I have read conflicting opinions on this. I asked about a month ago as to how many Mavericks are allocated to this dealership but I never did receive a finite answer. I really wanted this truck by June to take on a trip but I'm guessing at this point it is almost impossible that will happen. I love this truck but I don't love it enough to wait over a year because I will need something more than likely before September. If someone could reply as to how the dealerships receive their trucks to sell versus the private orders, I'd appreciate it.

First off, get the dealer to bump you up to a 10

They will build it when they get parts for your lux package. Priority code means nothing. My xl awd was 10 friends xlt front drive was 19. Hes already driving his and mine is due next week. Same order date same dealer.

I think your confusing "allocated vehicles" with dealer stock. Dealer stock vehicles are ordered with the intent to sell on the lot, no customer ordered it. Allocations is just a number, your dealer will receive X amount of Mavericks this month. Most dealers keep this number secret from customers. As far as dealer stock Mavericks, none should exist. They won't make enough to fulfill the orders from customers so they probably aren't going to make extras for dealer lots. The new ones you happen to be seeing for sale are customer orders where the customer did not purchase the truck. So to summarize, no they aren't building customer-less trucks before custom orders.

As far as priority codes go, those only apply to your dealer. Lower is better, 10 is the best a dealer can assign, 19 is the worst. Your dealer may be prioritizing people who have been waiting for their trucks since 2021. A 15 is right in the middle so not terrible. That said Ford is already scheduling build dates out a couple of months. The window for getting yours by June is certainly closing soon I would think.

There is a shortage of hybrid parts so your priority code does not mean much, wanting a Hybrid will give you a longer wait time no matter what code you have. Ecoboost XLT non-lux, seams to have the least constraints so more of those can be made.
It also matters how many orders your dealer has, more orders can mean more waiting.
Not the answer you want but that is how it works, you can not say prioity code 15 = 7 more months to wait and code 10 means 5 more months. There are many other factors that matter more than the code.

All depends on how many orders your dealer has. If there are ZERO other orders with a priority code of 15 or below, then you are first in line for Ford TO LOOK AT to see IF they can build what you ordered. ...when they have an allocation from Ford, which can change monthly.

Ford has stated that it will build a minimum number of XLs, as noted elsewhere (I think they limited it to 15%)...and if you added a hitch, you are in the worst of 3 constrained categories: Hybrid, Hitch, XL.

Sorry to say that it is very possible that your build will not be made in 2023. Ford has many more hybrid orders than they can fill, and Ford has more XL orders than they allocated to build.

My input here is that you can't clarify mud.

No one really knows how vehicles get selected to be scheduled. The region, the dealer, the vehicle itself, current component availability, and the order priority are all inputs, but basically you need to treat it as a random event.

Not only are people past 12 months........ many are approaching 18 months of waiting.

While other "new to the game" September 2022 orders are being built and delivered. Many of these builds are identical and Ford is selecting the Sep. 22 orders to be built BEFORE identical Sep. 21 orders. There is ZERO rhyme or reason.

There are TONS of armchair quarterbacks on this message board that will attempt to answer your legitimate questions. Take it all with a grain of salt (or maybe the whole salt shaker)........NOBODY REALLY KNOWS!!

Everyone chants how tow-hitch is a "constraint".....then on Feb 9th Ford schedules TONS of stand-alone tow-hitches. Why? Nobody knows!!

Here is a million dollars worth of advice for free: Just buckle up and prepare for a long, long wait. Maybe if your stars align.... you might be pleasantly surprised by a relatively short wait. But DO NOT hold your breath. And whatever you do..... DO NOT DEVOTE HOURS OF YOUR LIFE TO TRY TO "FIGURE OUT" the who, what, when, where, and why orders get scheduled. You will be going down a deep, dark rabbit hole of which you will find ZERO answers and the end result is that you will certainly be exposed to MORE confusion, contradictory statements, lies, and pure, unadulterated misinformation. Your mental health will thank you if you stay away from the minutia and just accept the long wait....

Considering it is a hybrid I would say between 7 and 12 months from today. Best guess. This is based on the majority of hybids being built now are still rollovers from last year and the large number of hybrids ordered for this model year means half or more of us are reordering in September for a 24 model or buying from another brand. But like everyone else on here this is just a guess.
