Do I Stay or Do I Go? (Need Advice)

I'm getting two trucks. One for me and one for my son. They are the exact same other than color. Mine is scheduled for production on May 22nd. My son's isn't scheduled yet. I notice that an out of state dealer is selling my exact same color and spec right now. They added about $1,800 of add ons, but they haven't marked it up! I'm tempted to fly out and buy their Maverick and simply change my color on my build. (It will be a 22 hour drive back.)

I need my son's truck by November when he comes home and continues college. (He is currently serving a mission.)

Do I take the safer route and go through the hassle of going out of state for the truck? Or should I be patient knowing there is still July - October to be scheduled? (I worry whether I will be lucky twice!)

I think there is May, June,July, August, and maybe September to be scheduled yet but maybe not so much if you are going hybrid.

I exchanged emails with the dealer and tried calling him today. Dealer just emailed saying the Maverick is sold. I probably should have acted faster. Thanks to those who replied.

I'm not surprised. I think when you see a Hybrid ad at a dealership its probably a special order already spoken for. You still have some time yet to get lucky though.

Tim Bartz said last week during his show you can change the color if you are scheduled so long as they haven't printed your window sticker.

Wait for the one scheduled build in May. Go pick up that other Maverick that is at a dealership. I had to wait 10 months for my Hybrid and pay 7,000 more than list. I live in Puerto Rico so It had to be ordered in Miami at one dealership then set to another Ford dealership here on the Island. Both Dealers charged a surcharge. I love my Hybrid averaging 50 mpg or more most of the time. My hybrid Maverick is the only one on the Island. They are getting a lot of upgraded 4 wheel drive Mavericks here now, and selling for 40K plus. I have been very happy with my truck and I have owned more than 60 different vehicles,
