Having never used Sync3 I have a somewhat unrelated question. Say you're plugged in and using any combination of the above navigation. Do incoming texts, emails and other alerts all become pop ups on the screen? Because that's one feature I like in my Focus ST, my screen isn't mirrored and none of the alerts pop up so everyone in the car can see them.

So far the only cars we have with Apple Car Play are the 2018 CR-V and my M5. When using any of the apps and I get a phone call the screen will pop up with who is calling, if I get a text it just says text and name at the bottom of the screen. I like how Apple Car play has evolved over the years and car manufactures have really embraced it and integrated it into their cars.

In the YouTube video it sounded like the Google Maps audio was coming through the tinny phone speakers. Is that true?

Can the Maverick XL play Android Auto apps' audio over the vehicle stereo or will the sound only come out of my Android phone?

I have my Maverick and using android auto and google maps the sound comes through the Vehicle's speakers. It is very clear.

I found this from Ford and it appears that they are explaining a navigation system that from all other sources, none exists unless you add one yourself. Did they goof or did they plan for it and later decide not to put it in? What say Ford?

Yes, for the 2023 model but the page says it is for the 2022 model. Something is not right here.

Ford may have just assigned the video to the Maverick in general rather than specifically the 2023 MY.

I believe the Lariat w/o Lux package get Nav and Sync 3

You could NOT equip a 2022 Maverick with built-in navigation. Not in the order guide, price list, or website. But since it is in the owners guide, that indicates plans to offer built-in navigation fell through for 2022. Ford was able to reinstate the option only in time for 2023.

Adding navigation was likely a parts simplification move since it can now be a common module with the Escape.

Similar to adding cruise control to XL, it eliminated that unique non-cruise switch part which was not used anywhere else.

False grasshopper, Lux package gives you Sync 3, which gives you built-in Nav. Same as MY23

Its more about packaging, if they gave cruise in a XL, what would be the reason to move up the XLT, they would have to add something else to the XLT.
