  1. New 12V battery drain in 3 days!

For what it is worth, I have a Ham radio directly connected to the 12V battery under the seat. Several times I had forgotten to turn it off after parking in the garage. The control head is in the middle of the dash. The repeater it is set on has very little activity. I have discovered that even...
  2. Username Meaning ?!?!

I am retired and worked in the building at the left of this post. I did not do what most people think people do that work there but thought it was a good name. When people ask me if I was a spy because of where I worked, I answer them with a question: "Is everyone that works in a hospital a...
  3. Who's Checking Out Your Maverick?

It looks like we are from the same generation. I have the same observations. Anyhow, since I am retired, I don't get around that much and haven't had too many comments. When I do get them, I always make the point that it gets over 40 MPG, consistently. It is garage kept, so my neighbors don't...
  4. Running Boards for Hybrids - are they really here now?

CAA, I appreciate your comments and if I was 20 years younger, I would give it a shot. However, my age and physical condition prevent me from crawling under the truck like I used to do. I don't even change the oil myself any more. I have a place that will install them for me but will not make...
  5. Running Boards for Hybrids - are they really here now?

I don't think there is any frame difference. The difference is that the Hybrid has a high voltage cable from the battery to the engine compartment and it runs through the spot where you would bolt on the running board.
  6. Running Boards for Hybrids - are they really here now?

I just called the Real Truck 800 number and asked. I first noticed that the part number is the same for the ecoboost and Hybrid. That tells me that they don't even know that the Hybrid can't use that same one the ecoboot uses. The guy at Real Truck also told me that they have none in stock, so...
  7. Running Boards for Hybrids - are they really here now?

Apparently no one ever thought that the running boards might be needed for someone that is handicapped, although I shouldn't have to explain to whomever thinks they are the judge as to whether I need them or not. How about someone please answer my first post? Has anyone installed this particular...
  8. Running Boards for Hybrids - are they really here now?

https://realtruck.com/p/black-horse-armour-running-boards/v/ford/maverick/2022/ Has anyone installed them yet? I see they are a bit pricey. It says they fit the Hybrid, but I don't want to order them and have to return them because they won't fit. I am just looking for conformation.
  9. Navigation Hardware Swap OUT

I have a 22 Lariat and put a Garmin in it and love it. It is up to date, also shows my speed when it is hard to see the speedometer and tells me how many minutes it will take me to get home from previous locations. It also lets me know when going through school zones, so if I miss the signs, I...
  10. Check What New Accessories Muslogy Made for Maverick And Win Your Prize!

I don't see any running boards for the Hybrids! Why doesn't any vendor want to make and/or sell them? Be the first to do so and make some bucks. Us Hybrid owners have been waiting and waiting.
  11. 4 Easy Exterior Mods (Cosmetic)

Here is another easy one that actually has a function. It helps prevent dents from the idiots that open their doors too wide in parking lots. https://buyautotruckaccessories.com/2022/ford/maverick/body-side-moldings
  12. LED strip bed lighting installed

Try putting the ignition in the accessory position. That should do it.
  13. Orientation of Add-a-Tap on Fuse 3 and Fuse 6 (Accessory / Ignition Only Power) [Spoiler: It's All Good]

That is one way to do it but I like to keep things simple. I have been installing radios in cars and other places since the 1970's. For most of the professional jobs, cost was not a big concern but now that I am retired, I try to keep the cost as low as possible for my own installations. Also, I...
  14. Orientation of Add-a-Tap on Fuse 3 and Fuse 6 (Accessory / Ignition Only Power) [Spoiler: It's All Good]

Thanks for the quick answer. I was not aware that 24 was constant. The ones you mention are not enough amperage. When I key the mike, it actually pulls about 30 amps but I turned it back a bit to keep it at a lower level. That's why I was looking at 24. I am open for suggestions for an accessory...
  15. Orientation of Add-a-Tap on Fuse 3 and Fuse 6 (Accessory / Ignition Only Power) [Spoiler: It's All Good]

Does anyone know what kind of fuse type is number 24 in the cabin fuse box? If it is any other type than a micro 2, do they make fuse taps for that type? I need a source of accessory power for my 2 meter radio and this one is about the only one that has enough amperage to power it in the...
  16. How much did you pay for yours?

I guess my generation (Baby Boomers) must have a different culture when it comes to talking to others about how much we paid for something. So, my answer would be NYB (not your business or none of your business). Or, if your vocabulary contains some vulgar words, add another letter before the B...
  17. running boards

Does this particular running board actually fit the Hybrid model? Their web page says it fits all models but how can that be if the Hybrid is different? Has anyone installed them on their Hybrid? If so, was it easy enough for a semi-mechanic to do?
  18. Ford maps center dash cluster

One of the first things I did after I got my 2022 Hybrid Lariat Maverick was to buy a navigation system. You can mount it on your dash and it is easy to install. The price is right too, depending on what options you want, including size of screen. No cell phone or outside connections required...
  19. Post the view from your office window 🪟

I am retired but my old office building is the pic on the left. No cameras allowed anyhow, so I'll pass on the pic.
  20. Put that rear sliding window to work!

I agree. I had 2 ten and a half ft. poles and put a small pillow against the windshield. I didn't use anything else except having my wife hold down the poles, which was no strain. The poles rested on the bottom of the rear window opening and the bed cover and almost extended to the end, but not...
