Until Ford isolates and fixes the deep sleep problem with an update this is my resolution.

I like many others here, had deep sleep problems on my 2022 XLT Hybrid and my 2023 Lariat Hybrid.

Using all of the products mentioned below on our work vehicles I was familiar with their products.

I already had a Noco GB20 with a Noco GBC007 Adapter cable from a previous vehicle.

I attached the GBC007 cable under the hood to the positive and negative posts. This allowed me to jump start quickly.

After several of the much talked about FordPass “Remote features disabled to preserve battery” messages. I researched a trickle charger.

I ended up purchasing a
Noco Genius5 which I installed directly to the 12 V battery under the seat. The negative cable is mounted to a factory ground. I could have attached to the GBC007 with the adapter but didn’t want to have to lift the hood and drape the cord on the paint.

When I received the “Remote features disabled to preserve battery” message, I’d flip up the back seat and plug the Genius5 into an extension cord which I ran to an outlet.

This still required me to close the door overnight with the cord hanging out the passenger (battery) side.

In May 2025 I traded up to a 2025 Lariat Hybrid and having all of the Genius products, installed them just in case.

Looking for a cleaner solution for the Genius5, I purchased a GCP1 port plug and a 6 ft extension cord from Home Depot.

I popped out all of the plastic retaining clips and removed the left rear wheel well liner. This allowed access to the rubber factory grommet under the left rear seat.

I chose the rear liner over the front liner as it was rigid plastic and not the felt like soft material used on the front. I also placed it on the drivers side so that if I was ever in a hurry I wouldn’t forget to unplug.

I cut off the female end of the extension cord made a hole in the grommet and passed the extension cord through.

I reattached the female end of the cord on the cabin side and patched it back up. This allowed me to plug the Genius5 into the extension cord.

Using a hole saw I drilled in a flat spot at the top of the wheel well and mounted the GCP1 port plugging the extension cord into it.

The GCP1 is waterproof so when the seal is closed properly any water sprayed will not enter the port.

I got the first FordPass message on this Maverick in January, a week after installing everything.

Much easier to charge it up now when I need to. Hopefully in the meantime Ford comes up with an update.

We didn't buy a plug in hybrid. This problem has gone on far too long. Hopefully people considering spending their hard earned money take into account Ford's lack of an actual working fix to this problem.

Has anyone noticed that most of the "Remote Features Disabled" messages come around 2:00 to 3:00 AM? I really wonder if the truck is trying to talk to The Mother Ship at Ford, but someone at Ford has all of the connected trucks trying to hit the server at the same time. Causing the servers to be overwhelmed with requests. Making the truck retry several times to deliver its package to Ford, eating up a bunch of battery in the process.

Just a thought.

Other than the occasional deep sleep warning with all 3 of my Mavericks , I have had no other issues. Love this truck.

That being said, this morning at 4:38 PST I received my 2nd remote disable warning. Remote start didn’t work and I was greeted with no interior lights.

By default my Maverick checks for updates at 01:00 PST. Maybe @rclee is on to something.

Maybe the update is spending an inordinate amount of time connecting as everyone else is around the same time.

I changed my update time to 13:00 instead.

I can attribute the drain most likely to the colder weather here, currently 4 Celsius and not driving the last day or two.

Coincidental timing with my post last night. I’ll be plugging in effortlessly when I get home. 😉

It's not "just" the cold weather. We don't get below freezing here in the desert and the vehicle still continues to drain when it should be supposedly turned off.

No.

It's about voltage and Ford's special SOC.
Hit the lower line - disable the modem.

If yours is hitting about the same time, then your truck is doing something that is using power to the lower limit and turning modem off.
Or you are on the verge of the line anyway, happens to drop that little bit extra by then.

If it's about checking for auto-updates - the check is simple, the downloading is not and longer - and there I could see many setting to about the same time or keeping the default.
But as posters have proven - not all the trucks are setup to get updates at once, some get it several days later despite manual checks for an update after others have gotten it.

Last data send is on parking anyway - so totally different times on that, though I'm sure it does concentrate around certain times - perhaps that causes a resend later.

It's a cell phone in the truck basically - same low required power limits, it's really about 25 mA or less depending on signal strength needed.

Looks clean. I did something similar with the Noco 2A that sits in the cubby between the rear passenger seat and door, there is just enough wire length on it to hit the (+) power terminal and the (-) ground screw on the body. Then the power cord just dangles out of the rear passenger door, so even if I forget about it and drive off the extension cord should unplug. I try to put a post-it note on the shifter knob if I am charging, then reuse it for next time.

I've heard a couple mentions here on the forum of Ford having a fix in the second quarter of '26 .
Does anyone have any info ?
I'm still squeaking by with my original 12v battery , 40 months now ....

I hook up my genius 1 overnight once or twice a month.
Never get a low volt condition, never seen it shut things off.

BUT !
My highest peak voltage ever has
been 12.53 VDC.
Lowest was 11.8 VDC and still no battery conserve mode.
Odd I know.

I ordered the Ancel BM200 the other day to monitor my battery.

https://a.co/d/02KI7yB6

Allows you to track your battery state of charge and voltage.

Seems after I fully charged my battery overnight, drove to work and parked overnight the SOC dropped to 65%.

After driving 2 straight hours yesterday the app showed me 100% state of charge.

When I woke up this morning the SOC had dropped to 25%.

Voltage seems ok. I’ll know more overtime as it creates a log.

I also added this display which stays on constantly for a visual reference.

Easy to install by popping the tray behind the screen out and feeding the wire down to the fuse panel.

Some screenshots from the app.

The fix is for another intermittent parasitic drain, beyond what may have been the major one of the AC module.
One morning - dead battery.

It is NOT for undercharging that causes a sulphated battery for many that results in low enough voltage for battery saver conditions to kick in, eventually leading to a bad enough battery to get replaced under warranty, but likely never failed to start the vehicle.

What's your majority average daily drive time there in nice temps?

Nice tracking device - easy to know when it's time to recharge to keep battery up, if you don't drive much.

It's a voltage based SOC% - same as table you can look at, though they have their own scale compared to other's I've seen.
Which means any battery voltage reading, or derived SOC from it - is invalid after charging, until at least a 3-4 hr wait. And a reading while charging to get SOC from it - not correct either.
It will be interesting if you get a charging level of around 12.8 - means the BMS thinks the battery is fulling charged.

Do you at least get to tell the device what type of battery you have since AGM?

That big of a drop in voltage/SOC (though some is an invalid high start point) - you either have a battery on last legs and can't hold a charge, or you have a parasitic drain.

Have you had the SSM for AC module software update?

That will be an interesting graph after 3-4 hrs sitting, just getting in car for light to go on, then close and door lock for the next 30-60 min and beyond.
Voltage readings will be more telling than SOC graph.
