Hello.

you are an idiot

Sincerely ,

every Honda Ridgeline
Ridgeline is NOT a small truck. Still would take a Mav over a Santa Cruz tho.

Only problem I’ve had from my mav 27k is a check engine light, which I caused by accidentally running over a big hunk of 18 wheeler tire. Ripped my left side body shield(if you can call it a shield) off and busted the evap canister. Cost $2000 to get it repaired. For should make those shield out of aluminum that that that crap they use, all it’s good for is to keep dirt off.

Well I have an ecoboost. Late build 22 no issues. Just that Hybrids still have many issues. Not sure how many out of the total sold. Great idea for sure and I hope they work out the issues. If a hybrid had 4k tow I would have bought one. Very happy with my Mav at 12k mikes so far.

Lol Hondas are eons ahead of Ford. All automakers have issues but there is no comparison. Having owned Chevys Ford's Toyotas and Mopar. If Honda made a small truck I would jump on it.
My 2010 Ranger has been unbelievably reliable since new. Before our now semi-retired life was my daily commuter in the NYC metro area for 10 years. Only repairs in these 13 years; a new battery, tires and a set of brakes. Even has original clutch. Ford has been OK with me.

My 2013 Honda CRZ went 256k before I wrecked it no issues only maintenence like you had 44 mpg avg. Ranger is a great truck. God bless you driving around with a stick I commuted 140 miles a day for 40 years. My left leg could not take that anymore.

Been driving for 53 years, 30 of them in Brooklyn and the last 23 on Long Island, other than my wife's cars all mine have been stick. After all those years you don't even think about it, shifting becomes automatic. When I drive my wife's CX-5 the automatic throws me off, I use the paddle shifters. Alas, manual transmissions are a dying breed and the only reason I haven't bought a Maverick is no paddle shifters. Holding out hope they add them one day.

Long time Honda fan...still have a CRV and Element....BUT this weeks news reports MAJOR number of recalls for both Honda and Toyota. Honda is having fits with 3rd Party electronic components.

After 20,000 miles on a Maverick HYBRID, one very minor recall on the rear ceiling air-bag.

I believe Maverick's use a timing chain (vs belt). It's unlikely that the truck has jumped timing. I would question the tech's troubleshooting skills, the position sensor, the sensor wiring, etc. before that mechanical failure (through anything is possible with any vehicle and any manufacturer).
Even though the 2.5 uses a chain if the tensioner failed it could cause the engine to go out of time. While this is unlikely with such low mileage it could be the problem or a symptom like a faulty oil pump not providing enough pressure to the tensioner.

Either way it sucks the OP is having to go through this. Hopefully their dealer gets it figured out soon and the OP can be back on the road in their new Honda.

Engines as well, I believe the latest recall for Honda has to do with 2.5 million defective fuel pumps. Unless that's somehow related to those electrical components. My friend's civic has about 90k miles on it, everything, and I mean everything is failing on it. His dash is lit up with all sorts of warnings lights, your body rocks violently whenever the automatic transmission shifts, the engine sounds like it's bogging down, everything rattles, the skid plate drags as you drive down the street, the bumper is handing off, the paint is sunfaded to hell.

I get it's a somewhat old car, around 2013, but damn.

I'll bet the CVT Planetary locked up. When you see how a planetary works with a electric motor attached............. very easy with a actuation failure.

I had a 2010 Ranger, it was awesome. I would happily buy one of those.

The truck would start, run for a few seconds, and then shut down. The only stored code was about the cam position sensor, or the sensors circuit.
